“When did they acquire cell phones in hell?”
I walked up behind Jesse as he hung up his phone.
“I’m just keeping your brother informed.” He turned around to me with a smirk on his face.
“You need to keep your distance.” I ignored his taunts “You nearly got me busted!”
“And that’s such a bad thing why?”
“Because I need to keep a low profile and you do too. He can’t know what we’re up too.”
“Oh Vicky.” He smiled with a hint of a laugh in his voice “If I didn’t know any better, I would say you’re starting to care.”
“Fuck off Lawson. I’m not the one with my neck on the chopping block.”
He gulped grabbing his neck.
“I suggest you trust mine and my brother’s instinct.” I glared at him, colder than before, and he didn’t speak another word.
