One Hundred Sleepless Nights

I finally finish trying on the last lingerie set and Katelynne gives it her approval, like every other one in the pile. I decide on the first one for underneath my dress and Katelynne grabs the pile and hands it to Sarah. "You're really going to buy me all of those?" I say, frowning. "You are spending way too much money on me." She giggles, and says, "Nope, like I said, it's not too much money." I smile, and say, "Whatever." She grins, and Sarah says, "Okay, the salon upstairs is ready for you. They'll be doing a mani/pedi, hair and makeup, and a wax, if you'd like." Katelynne looks at me questionably, and I boldly answer, "Yeah, we'd like the whole package." She laughs at my remark, and pulls me towards an elevator. We reach the top floor, a full-blown salon with hairdressers and everything. Katelynne and I get escorted to side-by-side chairs, and the stylists automatically start to wet down and shampoo our hair while Sarah shows them our outfits. "Hi, I'm Stacy. What's your name, hon?" she asks while conditioning my hair. I smile, and reply, "I'm Essence." "So, what's the occasion?" she inquires,"That is a gorgeous dress." I grin, and say,"Thanks, and my boyfriend is throwing a party tonight." She laughs, and says, "That's normally why girls your age come in." I laugh, and close my eyes as she works on my hair. Someone taps me on the arm, and I open my eyes. "Hi, I'm Nicole, and I'll be doing your nails," she says in a girly voice. I respond, "Hi, nice to meet you." Suddenly, Katelynne calls out, "Heads up," and tosses my phone at me. "You can listen to music while your nails are being painted, and text when your makeup is being done," she says, smiling. "Thanks," I respond before I quickly turn my Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil playlist on. King For A Day comes on, and I sit my phone down on my lap. Nicole gets to work on my nails, and Katelynne bobs her head to the music, smiling. "Our boyfriend's voices, together in one song!!!" she exclaims, squealing. I giggle, and Stacy asks, "Oh, so the lead singer of Pierce The Veil is your boyfriend?" I bite my lip, and declare, "Yup." She laughs, and continues to curl my hair into loose waves.The song changes to Hold On Till May and I watch as Nicole paints my nails purple with a black lace pattern over top. Katelynne looks over at me, and says, "Only one more hour until Vic and Kellin pick us up!!!" I laugh, and respond, "I can't wait....where are they picking us up?" Katelynne explains, "At Vic's hotel room, it's the closest place." I close my eyes and sink back into my chair, enjoying the pampering and the sound of Vic's voice.

Eventually, Stacy and Nicole finish my hair and nails, both fingers and toes. When they were dry, I snatched my phone out of my lap and checked my texts. There were 5 messages in all, and I read them before getting my makeup done.

From Vic: Hey sweetheart :) I miss you so much...when is Katelynne releasing you??? haha
From Mike: Ugh, is Katelynne done with you yet? Vic won't shut up -_-
From Tony: Hey :) where are you? Vic's going crazy
From Kellin: Tell my girlfriend to stop torturing Vic and let him see you.
From Jaime: UGH Vic is killing me...as his girlfriend, please give me permission to tape his mouth shut?
I laugh, and Katelynne asks, "What?" I can't stop laughing to answer, so I toss her my phone. She reads the texts and sighs. "Boys!" she exclaims, rapidly typing things on my keyboard. After a few minutes, she says, "Done," and tosses my phone back to me. I read her reply to the texts and smile. She really told them off.

To Vic, Mike, Jaime, Kellin, and Tony: Hey bastards, it's Katelynne. Stop texting Essence, I'm not giving her back!! See you guys tonight.

"Katelynne!" I exclaim, sighing. "They are going to be so pissed." Katelynne laughs hysterically, and answers, "No, they won't, they know I'm joking. Hell, it might turn Kellin on." We laugh, tears coming to my eyes. When I'm done, a man walks in and says, "Hello ladies. Which one of you is Essence?" I respond, curiously,"I am." He walks towards me and opens up a case of makeup that's sitting on the counter behind me and says, "I'm Steve, and I'll be doing your makeup. Judging by what time it is, you'll be wanting a smoky eye or some other nighttime style of makeup?" I shrug, and reply, "You're the professional." He laughs, and says, "That I am. Close your eyes please." I do as I'm told, and he sweeps something over my eyelids. "Oh, Essence," Katelynne says, "We won't have time for the wax, but when you were trying stuff on, I didn't notice you needing it, so, we're set when Steve and Derek are done with our makeup and Stacy and Nicole help us into our dresses." I respond, "That's fine." My heart quickens as Steve says, "Almost done," and I start to worry. What will Vic think? Will his friends like me? "Ugh, Katelynne, I'm nervous," I say, my voice shaking. "Don't be, Vic loves you, and so will his friends. Trust me," she reassures me in a calming voice. I smile, and say, "Thanks for everything, Katelynne." "No problem," she responds as Steve says, "Finished! You look fabulous." I open my eyes and Katelynne drags me into the dressing room. "Don't I get to look?" I ask, wanting to know how I look. "Nope," she replies, "I want Vic to see you before you look in the mirror." I sigh, and Nicole helps me into my dress and heels, zipping me up and tying the closures on my shoes. I shake as Steve and Derek escort us to the awaiting chauffeured car sitting by the curb. "Where's the convertible?" I ask, the cherry red car having disappeared. "I thought this was more suitable," she answers, and giggles, "Besides, I can't drive in these shoes." We laugh as we drive towards Vic's hotel.
