In 2200, The Great Ones, aliens from outer space, came to planet Earth in what seemed to be with a white flag of peace. But that peace was short lived.
Before long, The Great Ones began killing humans, and then enslaving the ones they kept alive as their own pets of a sort.
However, when The Great Ones first took over, a prophecy was told of a messiah who would be the reincarnation of an admired soul of the past would come forth and lead the rebellion, known primarily as the Core, to defeat The Great Ones once and for all.
Yet this hero has not come, and humanity is losing faith.
Will this savior, this reincarnated hero, arrive in time, before humans lose all faith in the Core, and in themselves?
Will humans ever take back their world and be set free?
Told from the point of view of Nastya Rostov, a teenaged girl who lives in what was once the country of Russia, where the main Core lives.
