A year passed and the men were still never seen again. An investigation went on and nothing was found. Gerard didn't get into any trouble and was able to go home a few days later.
He cannot forget the day. Michael eventually came back home to introduce everyone to his fiancée. It was like the incident made Gerard's world better.
Sam's parents wrote Gerard one day and told him they had forgiven him for what happened that day. They miss Sam but they know Sam is in a better place. The weight of the world was lifted off Gerard's shoulders.
A few weeks ago an anonymous letter came that explained what the night really was about. Gerard felt so foolish but accepted it.
He knew though Mary could be brought back and feared that day. She let him go once but knew never again.
Gerard doesn't know why he was let go but a part of him knew it had to do with Sam. It's always been about Sam.
