Resurrect the Sun

Darkness. Darkness is what my life consists of. The first 19 years of my life were filled with glorious light and hope. Now it consists of the blackest, man-made nights and the dread of walking out the door and never being able to come home. I lost everything the day the vampires took over the city I called home; the city of angels. Los Angeles was one of the first major cities to be taken over by the creatures of the night and now it’s the last major city standing. There are about a thousand humans left in the city, including myself. We are all separated, spread out in little groups, hoping one day we’ll be able to come together and take back our city. But with all of us in our own little worlds, a rebellion isn’t in our future. None of us truly have the will power to walk up to the vampires and fight for our city. Most of us are just praying for death to even think about fighting. I was no different. I was alone and welcomed death more than anyone in the city. That’s until they walked into my life and changed me forever…
