The Agent's Daughter

Making a desicion

I opened my eyes, to find myself dressed in a long; and beautiful white and blue toga, with long flowy sleeves. I felt something on my head, and I found myself wearing a leaf-crown. On my feet, were 12th century sandals. I smiled. This was the outfit of a Goddess. I knew immediately that I was home. I was in Greece. I was on Mount Olympus.

“My child you have awakened……” I heard a voice say to me. I looked up to see a middle aged man, standing in front of me. I smiled. He was wearing a toga, with a lightning bolt in his hand.

“Hello, Milord…” I said, with a slight bow.

“Please, Maddy…my child. Please call me Zeus…” He said, politely. I nodded, understanding. “My child, do you know why you have been summoned to Olympus at this hour?” He asked. I just shook my head. He smiled at me, his lightning bolt, crackling in his hand. I jumped in surprise. He gave a hearty laugh, and I smiled.

Besides, joining the Avengers, I finally felt like I belonged. I did belong. I was with my family. My immortal family. But, even though they were immortal, and that that they would never leave me, I had a family on earth. Clint was on earth. Steve, Nat, Tony, Pepper, and Bruce were on earth. They were the ones who took me in, when no one else would. They accepted me for who I was, they saw me as a person, not as some kind of freak, that everyone else saw me as. I couldn’t just leave them, just because I am now a Goddess. Zeus saw me in despair, and he walked over to me, and placed a warm hand on my shoulder. “What are you thinking, my child?”

“Well, it’s just that, my friends on earth were always there for me, and I just can’t just leave them now, after all that they have done for me, and this is a one in a lifetime opportunity, and I would love to be a Goddess of the Elements, but they need me down there. I don’t want to leave them. Someone loves me down there…and I love him too. There is no way that I can abandon Clint now. All that he suffered through, just for me. I can’t do that to him, that would break him, and it would break me as well. I couldn’t live with that…”

Zeus just gave me a smile, as he gave my shoulder a squeeze. “It seems as if, you have this all sorted out…I can make you a deal. If we ever need you, we can summon you up to Olympus…is that all right with you?” I nodded.

“Thank you, Mil…I mean, Zeus…” I gave him a slight bow, and a warm light engulfed me, and I opened my eyes, I was facing the ceiling in a house, I was on earth once again. I smiled, as I heard someone walking down the hallway. I stood up, and walked into the hallway, to come face-to-face with a surprised Clint. “Maddy?” He asked. I smiled at him, as he opened his arms out to me. I ran into them, as he enveloped me in a hug.
