No Place for Women

Chapter Ten

Waking up always did have its good advantages the girls had learned this many days over the years whenever they were out on their own and needed to travel long distances. Like they do for their trips back and forth to and from Rivendell.

Kila was the first to wake up; she got off of Kili's lap as gently as possible and left a small kiss on his cheek before walking across the camp. She squated down by Calili who was still sleeping; Fili's arms wrapped loosly around her. Kila placed her hand over her sisters mouth harsly. Killing two birds with one stone by both waking her up and keeping her from making any loud noises and waking everyone else up.

"Come on, we have to bathe before we get going. We already smell horrible enough, I'm sure that if we go any longer without washing Fili and Kili may something about it." Kila told her younger sibling, helping her out of the tangled mess of Fili's arms that she was wrapped up in.

Kila helped her to her feet before they went back through the camp and stopped by the large rock that Kili was leaning against, still asleep. They walked behind the rock and began stripping from the clothes that were currently covering their bodies. Calili looked up at her sister, only to see her smiling at the leather jacket she had, as she took it off.

Once they had all of their clothes off of their bodies, they slowly got into the water. Making sure not to splash around too much or make loud sounds. Trying even harder now that they were completely naked and likely to be exposed to fourteen men, and that would not be good.

Little did they know, that while they were standing in the clear water, washing away all the dirt and sweat from their body; somewhere in the camp, Bifur was waking up from his sleep. He heard the small sound of something moving around in the water, which caused him to immediately look in that direction. His eyes immediately going wide when he saw the two naked girls bathing in the moonlight. Immediately, he climbed to his feet before running over to his cousin and shaking him awake.

"G....Girls." He said slowly, "Bathing."

He pushed the words out of his mouth as clearly as he possibly could. Bofurs eyes went wide, and he shot up from where he was standing. As Bifur went around waking everyone else up, Bofur went over to the large rock where Kili was leaning still asleep.

"What are you doing?" Kili groaned, opening his eyes; not only to see Bofur standing basically right ontop of him, but that Kila was gone.

"Kila and Calili are in the lake." Bofur whispered. "They left their clothes over here behind the rock."

It took Kili a moment or two to realize what Bofur had just told him before he shot to his feet and looked over the rock. He saw Kila standing there in the water, her back to him, and her hands running through her dark hair. Every few seconds he could hear the girls voices, though he couldn't hear what was behind said, all he did hear was their voices whispering quietly amongst each other.

"Kili, we've got to do something." Fili said, walking over to the two.

"Shhh, now you two keep your nose out of it if you're going to try to put a stop to it." Bofur waved them off.

"We can't just stand here and let them be seen by the entire company while they're naked!" That's what convinced him.

Turning around, Kili saw that all the men, including their uncle Thorin was standing in awe looking at the two girls that were standing in the lake bathing themselves.

Kili quickly walked around the side of the rock and picked up his jacket from where it was folded neatly on the ground next to the rest of their clothes. While he was standing there appreciating the fact that Kila had sat his jacket rather neatly on the ground next to the rest of the clothes that had just been thrown down. While Fili took off his jacket and cleared his throat loud enough for them all to hear.

"Excuse me girls." He slightly laughed, "I thought you might like to know, but this bath of yours, is no longer being taken in privite."

Calili shouted, crouching down in the water to try and cover her bare body from the eyes of all the men. Kila looked over her shoulder, slowly lifting her arms up around her upper half. Bofur stood behind the rocks looking at the girls, a large smile on his face; just like all the rest of the men. Except for Dwalin. He had rolled his eyes and was now sitting with his back to the girls.

"Come here Kila. I promise I won't look, just...put some clothes on." Kili laughed; only Fili was able to see the light shade of red that his cheeks turned in that moment.

Kila moved slowly towards the shore, until the was just above her bottom; she still had her arms over her small chest to hide herself. Quickly, Kili took a step or two into the water and quickly placed the jacket around her before swooping her up and carrying her back to the shore.

"Come on Calili, you too. I won't look I promise." Fili instructed.

"No!" Calili shouted, "Absolutely not! I refuse to leave this spot! Not while I'm being watched!"

"Come now love, I thought we had already talked about this? I don't bite...much." Bofur laughed from where he was standing behind Fili.

"Bofur stop it." Dwalin snapped simply from where he was sitting.

"Fine then." Fili shouted, "I guess we're doing this my way."

Quickly, he put the jacket on the ground before taking off his shoes, his pants and shirt, leaving him only in his undergarments. He the picked up the jacket once more before making his way into the water and over to the small girl. He hadn't seen anything that she didn't want him to see as he wrapped the jacket around her small frame and picked her up- the exact same way that Kili had picked up Kila only moments ago.

Once they were back to shore and dressed again, they all sat around the camp fire. Thorin had decided they would stay there until the sun came up; that it was still too early to start moving. Calili was greatful for that, she was freezing. She sat in her only thing of clothes that she had with them, her cloak and Kila's was wrapped around her. Not to mention that she was sitting in Fili's arms as he tried his best to get her warm.

"Such a shy girl." Bofur laughed walking past them, " I told you I don't bite hard." He laughed moving closer to her; her body tensed up as he leaned down next to her ear and bit the small place between her shoulder and her neck.

Her eyes went wide as she looked up at the man that was standing in front of her. She wasn't quite sure how to react to it; she simply pushed her self closer to Fili, trying to get more warmth.

Kila sat with Kili, directly across from where Calili was sitting with Fili. She had on the same black dress she had when they left Rivendell, and over her arms was Kili's leather jacket keeping her warm. Kili had a single arm around her, holding her body close to his as they sat in front of the fire. Though neither Kila nor Calili could stop themselves from blushing whenever they looked at any of the men sitting around them.

Calili

It had been hours since we left the camp that he were at this morning. Honestly, it was tough to leave. To me, there's just something about being around a lake that makes things feel more peaceful. It made things seem so much easier.

I still didn't know how to react to the bite mark that bofur had left indented into my skin. It didn't hurt...I just thought it was rather strange that Bofur had bitten me. Fili was walking next to me, trying to stay at the same pace as I was. Though I refused to look at him or even look him in the eye. I was fine earlier when we were still at the camp, but ever since we left it seemed different.

After a few more minutes of walking in silence, he walked away from the Company for a minute or two; probably going to the bathroom somewhere out of mine and Kila's vision. But when he came back, I noticed that he had something in his hand. He walked up to me, grabbing my wrist and got me to stop walking for a moment.

"Here, I picked this for you." He smiled. "It's called an Osiria Rose. They don't grow many places, around here. Usually it's rare when someone finds one. Boy am I glad that I found it. Standing here, looking at it, for the first time I realize how beautiful nature really is. Then...Then I look at you. I look at you and I see the most amazing girl, the most beautiful creature to ever be placed in this life. Just for me. Calili, ever since I lay eyes on you I felt so attracted to you. I want nothing more than to spend as much time with you as I possibly can. Will you be mine, Calili?"

My voice began to get caught in my thraot as he handed me the flower that he had picked. I could feel my hands start to shake as I looked up into his eyes.

"Of course." I nodded, and moved to wrap my arms around him.

Kila's POV

I sat on a large rock, the Company had stopped walking for a short five minute break. Sabastian sat in my hands, just sniffing around; it had been a while since he had come down from my shoulder. Most of the time he wasn't even there. He would run off in the night while I was sleeping a lot of the time and follow us through the woods during the day til he caught back up with us.

Today I hadn't even noticed that he was gone. There had been so many animals following behind us since we left camp, and I had not clue on how to get rid of them. At one point, I even stopped caring. All I cared about was finding Sabastian. He was no where around that I could see and he hadn't been up on my shoulder all night. That's when Kili had walked up to me, his hands cupped together hiding whatever was between them. Soon enough, he opened them only to allow Sabastian to jump out of his hands and over to me; he crawled up my arm and went straight to my shoulder.

I was so happy that I nearly cried. After I knew that Sabastian was situated, I jumped up and hugged Kili as tight as I possibly could.

"You seem really fond of this little guy. Can I ask why?" Kili smiled, sitting down next to me.

"Well, actually." I sighed, "Sabastian is the closest thing to any friend I've ever had besides Calili. This was before we had ever met Gandalf or Radagast. So I carried Sabastian around with me all the time. I protected him and fed him whenever he was around. He'd run off at times yes, but he'd always come back. There were days that he would go missing at times, I just would always get so worried about him."

"I wish you could feel that way about me." Kili mumbled, probably thinking that I hadn't heard him.

"What do you mean?" I hesitated, "I do feel that way honestly. I love spending time with you, and I love the nights that I fall asleep against your chest and I can just hear your heart beat. Being around you, I feel like I belong and I don't want that feeling to go away. It's just so amazing. I feel...I feel like I never want to leave your side."

I was nervous about how he would react to what I had just told him. He sat there silently, not even looking at me. His eyes stayed looking down on his hands- feeling as if he was going to reject me, I stood up to walk away. That's when he grabbed my hand and pulled me into yet another really tight hug.

"I'm not going to leave you side, I promise you. I promise you because I feel the exact same way about you." He smiled looking down at me. "Will you be my girl?"

"Of course." The smile never left my lips as I looked up at him.

Though we didn't stay like that for long. He immediately leaned down and pressed his lips against mine. Although, that didn't last long either. Upon hearing someone whistle we pulled apart from each other. Only to see Bofur pointing at us, and then to Calili and Fili.

"I always knew they'd end up like that soon enough!" He laughed, patting his brother on the back.

Bombur was watching to two sets of couples and then looked back to Bofur. When he looked back to the two couples, his legs seemed to spred and he thrusted his hips in a dance-like motion. A loud laugh left my lips and I closed my eyes, placed a hand over my mouth, and leaned against Kili.

Hopefully things would always be like this. Maybe, just maybe we can actually get it to work through all the things that where going on around. Gah how I hope.

Okay well, I know the whole relationship thing is probably really rushed, but I wanted it to happen. And yeah I thought it was cute and I really needed something cute after everything that happened today. I'm sorry about any typos you find. I really do hope you enjoyed this chapter. Comments please? It'd be amazing
