Status: Yep. Another Sykes story.

They Say

Just say it.

Emerson sat on Oli's bed, watching him as he packed. The room was silent as he sat in the floor folding shirts so they would fit in his suitcase.

"How long is this tour for again?"

"Like, 6 weeks."

She nodded and he looked up from what he was doing. He seriously never thought he would be the guy who dreaded leaving his girlfriend, but here he was counting down the hours like it was a death sentence.

Oli didn't know what to say to make her feel better so he just moved from the floor and sat beside her. Her eyes met his and he brought his hand to her cheek.

"I'm going to miss you so much."

"I'm going to miss you more."

He rolled his eyes and pressed his lips to her forehead, "Not possible."

"And it's going to be scary staying here alone. What if someone breaks in and tries to kidnap me?"

Oli scoffed, "Because that is likely to happen and all."

"It could!"

He chuckled, "I really doubt it."

"You never know."

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, "You're right, but I'm going to say it won't."

"I wish you'd stay." She said honestly and he kissed over her face, "I know baby." He whispered, "I wish I could too."

She sighed and he kissed her softly, "Oh! How was your first day at work?!" He asked realizing they hadn't done much talking since she had gotten home.

"Great actually, I think I'm going to like it."

"Good. I'm glad." He stated, kissing over her neck.

"What time do you leave in the morning?"

"Early, like 6."

She nodded and he sighed, "Let me finish packing and we can spend the rest of the night together."

"Ok." She whispered moving from his lap and he sat back in the floor. Emerson sighed as her mind began to wonder. Sure she was going to miss him, but a part of her was nervous about them being apart. Yes, she did in fact trust him, but all of Heather's stories and what other people told her, she couldn't help but worry a little about what could happen.

The next 15 minutes were spent in silent for Oli as Emerson talked and laugh on the phone with a co-worker. He honestly was happy she was making new friends, building a life here, but the insecure part of him was unsure how he would fit into her new life. Especially when he would be gone most of the time.

He moved from the floor, falling onto the bed where she sat. She begin playing with his hair as she talked away and he shut his eyes immediately. Odd enough, he was content in this moment. He dozed off, only to be brought back to reality by her saying his name.

"Mhm?" He mumbled, cracking open his eyes to look at her. A smile hit her lips as she stared down at him.

"I love you." She said so effortlessly as she kissed over his face. A grin hit his lips as he placed his hand on her neck, pulling her closer to his face.

"I love you too." He mumbled before crashing his lips to hers. She hated to be that person, who was happy stictly because of a guy, but the way things had been going, he was all he had to make her smile.

He had by now, memorized her lips and although familiar, he still couldn't seem to get his fulfill of them. He wanted to kiss her all the time. Of course he held back more often then he was aware, but he figured kissing her around all his friends at random times wouldn't make things easier for him or her.

His tattooed fingers slid into her hair as she relaxed on top of him, pressing her lips to his collar bone before placing her head on his chest. She loved moments like this. Sweet, loving moments that he only gave to her.

"What are you thinking of?" He asked softly, his fingers running lightly down her arm.

"Nothing."

Oli scoffed, "You never don't think, Em. I know you."

Emerson chuckled into his shirt, "Not true. Well not all the time."

"Mhm."

She raised up, meeting his gaze and a smirk hit his lips as he waited for her to speak.

"Want to know what I'm thinking?"

He nodded as he brushed her hair behind her ear.

"Why are you so sweet to me?" She asked and his eyebrows narrowed together, "because, you're my girlfriend. I hear you're suppose to do things like that."

"You know what I mean."

"I really don't. Have I not always been sweet to you?"

"Yeah, you have."

"Right so..."

She shrugged and he ran his fingers over her jaw, a sigh leaving his lips.

"I'm nice to everyone, love, but how I am with you, is only for you. I'm aware I'm kind of closed off because that's just how I am, I can't help it, but I love you, you know? And I trust you so there's that."

She nodded and he turned enough to lay her on her back, hovering over her as he did so.

"Don't question who I am around you, Em. Who I am with you is real. I swear it. You don't understand how much I feel for you and I'm sorry I can't express it as well as others, but I am however trying. Please don't worry about us when I'm gone because you will be the only person on my mind."

Emerson bit her bottom lip feeling foolish about bringing up the topic again. She needed to stop worrying and believe in him like she wanted to.

"I'll prove it to you. You'll see. I just know how you worry and I don't want my name to be on that list too." He stated.

"I'm not worried."

"You also aren't a good liar. Maybe that's what you should worry about when I'm gone." He joked and she tried to contain her giggles.

He grinned before pressing his lips to her cheek and falling beside her. His fingers running under her tank top causing her to shiver as she turned on her side to face him.

The pair stared at each other in a comfortable silence. Oli's thumb rubbing gently over her now exposed hip and she took in his features. If anything she knew he was overly good looking. The kind of good looking girls would stop to look at. His caramel colored eyes framed by his long lashes were enough and by adding his perfect jaw line. There was no chance. She could only imagine the girls that swooned over him when he was on tour.

"You really don't understand what you do to me." He whispered, bringing his hand from her hip to her cheek, "And on top of that you're so beautiful." He mumbled, leaning into her, pressing his lips over her jaw.

"You're not too bad on the eyes either, Sykes."

Oli chuckled, sliding his fingers into her hair as he gently kissed over her neck.

"Yeah, but you're definitely the good looking one in the relationship."

Emerson scoffed, "I'm sure thousands of girls beg to differ."

Oli raised up rolling his eyes, "Oh whateva. They probably wouldn't, but jealousy is a horrible thing."

Emerson laughed, "Right..."

Oli grinned and pecked her nose, "Really doesn't matter what anyone thinks of you."

"Oh and what if when you're gone some guy tries to hit on me?"

Oli immediately frowned, "Well, now that you mention it..."

For some reason that hadn't crossed his mind until now and now he was not feeling so great about leaving.

Emerson laughed, "I'm kidding."

"That could happen."

"Well sure, but I wouldn't allow it to so..."

Oli rolled his eyes, "You can't stop someone from trying to make a move on you."

"Yeah, you can say, hey, stop hitting on me, I have a boyfriend."

Oli couldn't help but laugh, "That is way too nice, Em."

"Is not." She grumbled and he grinned as he brushed back her hair, kissing her forehead, "It is and I swear it's why I love you because I know you'd really say that."

Emerson glared at him and he couldn't wipe the smile from his face, "Tell me I'm wrong."

"Shut up." She mumbled out and he tangled his fingers into her long hair as he chuckled against her lips, "I fucking love you so much."

She didn't bother to speak, just allowed him to continue kissing her like he was because let's face it, she didn't mind and he knew it.

"Can you please make up with Heatha before I leave?" Oli asked, after several minutes of kissing had numbed their lips.

"What?"

"Yeah, I just, I can't help but worry bout you being here all alone and I just, need to know someone will be looking out for you."

"Oh and now who's the worry wart?"

Oli chuckled, falling onto his back, "It's you, Em. I care about you. What else am I suppose to do?"

"Have fun?"

Oli rolled his eyes, "I will, but that's easier said then done, love."

"No it's not. Matty and them will be with you. Should be easy."

"Yeah, well, I'm not into the same things as they are anymore."

"What? Alcohol? Because we both know that isn't true." She replied with a smirk as she stared at him from her pillow.

"Well, some of the same things..."

She giggled and he reached out running his fingers down her arm which rested at her side.

"No, more like the girl aspect of it."

Her eyes met his as she tried not to appear nervous, "And why not?"

"Because I have you, sweetie. I have you and I don't need or want another girl." He said seriously, his fingers grazing hers before he linked them together.

"Just you." He whispered bringing her hand to his lips, kissing the palm of her hand before pressing them to her wrist.

"Until you decide you don't want me anymore."

"Why would I decide that?"

Oli shrugged and she cuddled to him, "I'll always want you, Oli."

"I hope that's true because I've only had you for a few months and I can't imagine having anyone else." Oli whispered to her and she kissed his neck, "I love you. We will be fine. We will get through this."

"I really hope so Em. I really do."
