Lessons Learned I
Lee 019
Rachel and I met up at the Bean Scene after class on Friday.
"How much homework did you get?" I mumbled dully while stirring my coffee.
She groaned.
"Too much."
"Pfft, same here. At least you're not in chemistry with Ms. Geoff..."
"I hated chemistry last year. It sucked."
"It's a pain in the ass. This one dude in my class keeps blowing test tubes up."
Her eyes widened.
"Yeah, I know," I mumbled. "Have you seen Alex around?"
"Yeah. We had lunch earlier."
"What's he up to?"
"Being stalked."
I gave her a weird look.
"'Stalked'?"
"Yes. By Ivy Fitzgerald."
"Dude, that chick is in my chem class. She's a bozo."
She laughed.
"Bozo?"
"Yeah. Did you ever see that show? I had to watch it when I babysat my cousins..."
She laughed.
"Nope. What's it about?"
"It's a couple clowns...it's pretty stupid. So, anyway, Ivy Fitzgerald has the hots for Alex, eh?"
"Oh, yeah. She hits on him like crazy."
"Poor Alex..."
"I know..." She paused. "He's a good guy."
"Yeah..." I smiled a little. "He's cute. I'm surprised he's single."
"I know. From what I hear, he's got a crush on someone." She snickered. "I think I know who it is."
"Who?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"I think he likes you. He got all defensive when I asked."
I burst out laughing.
"Whooaa, you've got the wrong girl, Rachel. He told me who he likes...I'm just not allowed to tell you who it is."
"Well, why not?! I feel left out!"
I looked down at my watch; my eyes widened.
"Rach, I am so sorry, I have to meet Joseph. I'm almost five minutes late."
She smiled.
"No problem. Have fun."
"Thanks. See ya." I got up and hurried out the door.
