Lessons Learned I

Lee 031

Rachel and I were walking downtown, talking.

"I hear Bistardio is throwing another party," I said as we sipped our iced coffees.

"Oh, really? That guy's amazingly funny."

"I know! Except when he slapped Alex on the back so hard he puked..."

She laughed.

"I wish I could have been there."

"Alex got pissed and yelled at him. It was hilariously rad."

She laughed a little.

"I bet it was pretty priceless."

"Yeah. Victoria is scared shitless of him."

She laughed. An all-too familiar face walked over. It was Adam.

"Hey," he said, giving Rachel a charming smile.

She looked at me, then at him.

"Hi, Adam," she smiled a little.

He chuckled a little. "How are you doing?"

"Okay. You?"

"Eh, pissed at my roomie. Frickin' idiot stole ten bucks..."

Rachel laughed a little.

"Did you get it back?" I asked curiously.

"No. I can't find the bastard."

"What's his name?"

"Marvin."

"Don't know anybody by that name. If you have classes with him or something..."

"Nope, he's advancing in physics and all that sorta stuff. Wants to be a doctor..."

She raised her eyebrow.

"Wow. He must be smart."

"Yeah...apparently," he mumbled bitterly. "Maybe he could tutor me sometime," he chuckled a little.

"Me, too," she laughed softly. He smiled.

"So, uh...I'd better run along. Gotta go meet up with someone. Nice seeing you both."

She smiled a little.

"You, too."

He smiled and walked off. I sighed as Rachel and I continued walking.
