Falling for You Was Out of My Control

Getting Some Normality Back

Evgeni’s POV
To some it might have seemed like we were just pushing it away, pretending like it never happened but for us maybe forgetting for a while was all we needed.

I loved home, I loved being in Magnitogorsk with my family but honestly I just needed some time to get myself lost in the city.

Moscow was good for that, the busy streets, the noise, endless amounts of people. It always reminded that I was just a small fish in a big ocean but for me that was what I needed. It always made me feel better.

“How about coffee?” I turned to Jessie as was passed a small café along the street side.
“Mmm yes coffee would be amazing right now,” she rubbed her hands together.

For Jessie it was still cold in Russia, the poor thing was never going to get used to weather but I took it to my advantage, selfishly using it to keep her right by my side.

“You ok?” I looked down at her as she wrapped her arms around me and rested her head on my shoulder.
“Yeah,” she sighed.
“You cold?” I slipped my arm around her.
“A little,” she shivered as I dropped a kiss to her forehead.
“Don’t worry we go back Pittsburgh soon.”
“And see the dogs?” she looked up with a wide smile on her face.
“Yes we see the dogs,” I laughed as she bounced on her toes like a kid in a candy store.
“Good because I miss them so much.”

I missed the dogs too and honestly I was missing Pittsburgh as well. It was becoming more apparent to me that home wasn’t necessarily Russia. Home was with Jessie, wherever she was everything felt right and that was home for me.

Jessie’s POV
I loved being with Evgeni. He was the most important person to me in the world right now and if I had been going through this with anyone else I don’t know what I would have done.

Yes we had our moments where it all seemed as if it was going to fall in a heap but he was strong. He was my rock and for that I would be forever in debt to him.

“Here keep hands warm,” he smiled handing over my coffee before slipping his arm around my waist and holding me to him as we walked down the street.

“You know I kind of wish we could see into the future,” I spoke up as I slipped my free hand into the back pocket of his jeans.
“Why?” he looked down at me with that confused puppy dog look of his.
“Well don’t you ever wonder what your life is going to be like?”
“Sometimes,” he shrugged.
“But wouldn’t it be amazing if you could see what our life was going to be?” I pulled away tossing my empty coffee in the bin, “like if you guys will win the cup again?”
“Of course we win cup again,” he gave me a sour look like it was a stupid idea if they didn’t.
“I know that but you get what I mean right?” I stepped in front of him.
“Yeah but then no surprise, what if life not what you want?”
“Well then you could change it.”
“Why change what perfect?” he smiled stepping closer to me.
“Evgeni,” I rolled my eyes at him as he completely pushed away what I was trying to say.
“What?” he stroked my cheek, “I have you, life perfect no matter what.”

He was such a sweet talker sometimes but right now I couldn’t care less. Granted a lot had happened and things were still pretty edgy but we were slowly getting some normality back into our lives.
