Falling for You Was Out of My Control

Just Like Before

Jessie’s POV
There was nothing like waking up at home in Evgeni’s arms with the dogs cuddled up around us. I had missed this so much; our little family of four that was soon to be five just spending time together, that was how it was supposed to be.

“Evgeni,” I let my hand linger on his chest as he slept peacefully.
“Evgeni, wake up,” I kissed his neck to see if it would work.

The poor thing was so tired; the flight had really knocked it out of him and on top of it he spent most of the night awake with something on his mind that he wasn’t willing to talk about. So I kind of felt bad that I wanted to wake him up but I was selfish sometimes.

“Come on,” I grabbed his chin and tilted his head down so I could kiss his lips but a smile cross his face and I knew he had been awake this whole time.

“You’re terrible,” I pushed off of him to get up but he was wrapping his arms around me and pulling me back into him before I got a chance to get up.
“Stay here,” he pulled me on top of him.

I had almost forgotten how comfortable he could be to lay on. His broad chest was perfect for a pillow, his arms tangled around me so I didn’t fall and his body was like a natural heater. There was nothing better.

“Evgeni can’t we get up?” I yawned.
“No,” he kissed my forehead, “we stay here.”
“But aren’t you hungry?” I mumbled as he ran his hand through my hair, a tactic he knew to make me sleep.
“Maybe, but not for breakfast,” my head snapped up to him as he smiled at me with that devilish smile of his.
“Really?” I sat up hooking an eyebrow at him.
“Yes,” he nodded in affirmation.
“Well your just going to have to wait,” I climbed out of bed before he even had a chance to grab me again.

“Come on dogs,” I slapped my leg for them to follow which they did because of course they were hungry for some good old dog biscuits and because I felt bad for leaving them for so long, they were getting pancakes.

“Sebastian watch out boy,” I had step around the dogs as they watched me with cautious eyes. They weren’t going to let me out of their sights.

Jeffrey sat in the middle of the kitchen, his sad face looking at me begging for food as I gave Sebastian the first pancake.
“Don’t worry boy you will get yours soon,” I petted his head.
I finally believed all those people that say dogs are just like their owners. Jeffrey sat right by my leg, nudging me and whining. It was probably mean to say it was such an Evgeni thing to do but it was true.

“Just let it cool down buddy,” I waved over the pancake hurrying it along. Jeffrey was not a patient dog.
“Here,” I knelt down and broke it up handing him piece by piece.
“Good boy,” I kissed his head and got up to wash my hands to make our breakfast.

“You baby dogs too,” I heard Evgeni laugh from behind me.
“What?” I turned to see Evgeni leaning up against the bench with his arms folded over his chest. He knew he had caught me out and I couldn’t help but feel guilty for it either.
“You treat dogs like they Andrei.”
“So?” I shrugged moving back to the stove as he walked over to me.
“You spoil,” he brushed the hair from my neck so he could kiss me, his lips moving down to my shoulder making me shiver.
“I can spoil them if I want, after all we did abandon them for a month.”
“What about me?” he turned me around so I could see his puppy dog eyes and pouting lips.
“You’ll get your chance,” I kissed his lips sweetly just so he would know he would get his turn.
“How about now?” he grabbed me by the waist and lifted me up onto the counter.
“I think we have some time,” I grabbed his face and kissed him harder wrapping my legs around his waist pull him closer.
