Falling for You Was Out of My Control

Evgeni Has A Penguin Obsession

Jessie’s POV
“I not want go to training camp,” Evgeni grumbled as he plodded into the kitchen.
“Oh it’s not that bad,” I smiled as he rubbed his eyes and walked over to me, “besides I am making you an egg white wrap.”
“With tomato?” he wrapped his arms around me and rested his sleepy head on my shoulder peering down at what was in the pan.
“Of course,” I turned my head to peek his cheek.
“Yum,” he squeezed me tight and kissed my neck before turning his attention to the dogs at our feet.

A lot of people hated mornings but I couldn’t get enough of them. Evgeni was always so childlike and cuddly in the mornings, the dogs were always around and everything just seemed perfect. In a week though Evgeni would be turning his attention to a little boy in his swing and that I couldn’t wait that.

“Here,” I walked over to the dining table with our breakfast as Evgeni shifted through a box full of clothes we had brought for Andrei a few days before.
“Thanks,” he smiled, “so many bibs,” he held up and pile of at least ten different bibs.
“Yeah well if you have anything to do with his eating habits he is going to use all of them in a day,” I took them from him so I could look at them again.

It had taken me forever staring at all the clothes and things to pick stuff that would be ok for Andrei and so far all we had were creepers and full length onesies. I wasn’t going to go out and buy things that he either wouldn’t fit into or would hate wearing.

“These have to be my favourite things ever,” I pulled out the bag with the selection of animal onesies I just had to buy because there was nothing cuter than a baby in a teddy bear costume.
“I like panda one,” Evgeni put his breakfast wrap down and held up the onesie that was defiantly going to be too big for him for a while.
“He will be nice and warm at the rink in it,” I grabbed the foot of it and ran my finger through the soft fur.
“Need buy penguin one,” Evgeni’s eyes widened like it was the best idea yet.
“I am sure he will be adorable in anything we put him in,” I laughed at his enthusiasm.

To say Evgeni had an obsession with penguins would be an understatement. He loved anything to do with his hockey team, he was passionate about it and to be honest penguins were cute.

“Oh Andrei nursery stuff is coming today so when you get home we can start to set it up.”
“Ok,” he chugged a glass of water before putting his dishes in the dishwasher and grabbing his things to leave.

“Don’t hurt yourself,” I reminded him as I walked him out to the car to say goodbye.
“I try not,” he gave me a kiss before smiling down at the dogs who were whining knowing he we getting ready to leave, “bye dogs,” he knelt down and ruffled them up before heading off.

I plodded back inside and the dogs sat in the foyer staring back at me, “what do you two want to do today?”
*woof!* the big lug barked at me.
“Oh really Jeffrey? And what about you?” I looked at Sebastian before he took off into the office and came back with his tug toy.
“Ok we can play,” I went to grab but before I could Jeffrey had the other end and they were off playing together.

Great not only have I been left talking to dogs but even the dogs are having more fun without me.
