Falling for You Was Out of My Control

Flying Baby

The moment we stepped on the plane with a baby everyone began eyeing us as if we were the devil, all except one lady who lucky for us was sitting in the aisle seat next to us.

“Hello,” she smiled as we shuffled around taking our seats.
“Hi,” I turned Andrei around in my lap so he was facing us.
“Hello,” she smiled at Andrei who beamed back at her, “your a sweet little thing. What's his name?”
“Andrei.”
“Hello Andrei, how are you?” she tickled his hand and he giggled at her.
“How old?”
“Three months.”
“He is adorable. You have such a cute family.”
“Thanks,” I didn't really know what else to say to that but I completely agreed with her.

I looked at Evgeni who smiled back looking rather proud of our little guy before leaning over and whispering in my ear, “he already good with ladies.”
“Evgeni,” I hint him in disapproval, “that is not happening for at least another eighteen years.”
“Just joke,” he rubbed his stomach pretending to be hurt.
“It better be,” I warned.

“Now come here you,” I pulled Andrei back into my arms and he giggled as he laid across my lap and stared up and Evgeni who played with his hair and kept him occupied while I fished out his pacifier.

“Here,” I stuck in his mouth but with Evgeni encouraging him to be silly he was spitting it back out.
“I don't think so,” I put it back in and he did it again.
“Evgeni,” I shot him my best disapproving eyes as he tickled his chin making him do it again.
“What?” he tried to look innocent.
“Leave him for like five minutes otherwise he will cry when his ears don't pop,” I frowned.
“Ok,” Evgeni sat back and waited.

“Do you want to hold him then?” I gestured to Andrei who still even with the pacifier managed to grin up at us.
“Yes,” Evgeni took him before I really even had a chance to give him up.

I settled against Evgeni's shoulder and looked down at our little boy who was surprisingly taking this whole thing really well. After last night I thought he was going to cry and scream and make a huge fuss but he was such an angel as he just feel asleep right there on Evgeni's chest. I never liked flying myself so I didn't know how little Andrei was dealing with it.

I couldn't wait to get home and for everyone to finally meet our little bundle of goodness. I was nervousness though at the same time. Going home meant the beginning of endless doctors appointments and whole lot of worry for our little guy.

I tried not to think about it too much, our little Andrei was happy right now so I was ok. I just wanted him to be safe and have the best life he could possibly have.

We learnt from last night that when it came to his bottle and he had finished well before we expected him to be to just leave him alone, but it still didn't work.

“Hey come on,” I laughed lightly as his bottom lip curled and he burst into tears.
“It's ok,” his eyes were so sad it hurt.
“Come here,” I put my hands out and he lent forward from Evgeni's lap and toppled back into mine.

“Shhh,” I rubbed my hand up and down his back as he hiccuped and coughed.
“Evgeni can you grab me his blanket?” I pointed to the bag at my feet.

“Here you go,” I put the blanket over his back.
“And teddy,” Evgeni handed the fluffy little bear over and tucked him in before setting the pacifier back in Andrei's mouth.

“Just go sleep sweetie,” I continued to run my hand up and down his back until he sighed as he wore himself out.
“Good boy, shhhh,” I kissed his forehead as he drifted off to sleep.
