Falling for You Was Out of My Control

Early Morning Love

Jessie's POV
I hadn't expected to get much sleep because I knew I would have to look after Andrei on my own. Evgeni had his first game tonight and he needed to rest. So when Andrei began whimpering in the bed between us I was quick to wake up.

“Come here baby, it's ok,” I sat up and pulled him into my chest as he abandoned his teddy for the first time ever for one of us.

“Jessie,” Evgeni groaned from the spot next to me.
“Sorry,” I winced as he rolled over, “I was trying to keep him quiet for you.”
“Is ok,” he sat up rubbing his eyes, “he ok?”
“Yeah he's fine, he's probably hungry... go back to sleep,” I lent over and kissed Evgeni's forehead before climbing out of bed and heading into the nursery to change him.

“Want me hold him?” Evgeni plodded in as I put Andrei into a bodysuit with a smiling monkey plastered on the front.
“Ok, here,” I handed him over, “you can feed him too if you like.”
“Ok,” Evgeni agreed, “but can you show how to make bottle?”
“Sure,” I ran my hand over Andrei's head, “because he is the epitome of all things fussy and if his bottle isn't perfect, you can bet he will cry until it is.”
“Only best for perfect boy.”

We headed downstairs with the dogs in tow for breakfast. We were still coming to terms with everything pretty much revolving around Andrei. We he woke up everyone else woke up, when he wanted to sleep we had to give him somewhere comfortable to be. He was refusing to sleep in his cot so his nursery was unused a lot of the time. He just didn't like us to be out of his sight.

Evgeni stood by watching over my shoulder as I made Andrei's bottle.
“And then just test how hot it is on your wrist before giving him it,” I mustered up the best smile I could with only four hours sleep.
“Oh that why you do that, just think you crazy must touch first,” he teased.
“Shut up,” I frowned, “do you want me to let you go hungry?”
“You never do that,” he looked hurt.
“Just good feed Andrei,” I swatted at his ass he turned on to head into the lounge room.

It was 6am and Evgeni and I were still getting used to waking up this early but we tried to make the most of it. It meant that we got to spend more time with each other and enjoy time we would normally have wasted.

“How is he doing?” I walked into the lounge room with our bowls of oatmeal as Evgeni laid on the couch with Andrei on his chest suckling away on his bottle.
“He breaths heavy,” he sat up looking worried.
“I know. I was talking to the doctor about it the other day he said it's because of the heart defect,” I explained running my finger over Andrei's little pink cheek.
“You think he be ok?” Evgeni looked up and I could see in his eyes that he was scared.
“He will be fine,” I put my hand on Evgeni's back and rested my head on his shoulder to peer down at the little boy, “he is strong and once all these doctors appointments are over he will be our healthy little boy.”

I knew Evgeni was worried about him from the beginning but when I got back from his doctors appointment yesterday and told him about the long road ahead of us; the cardiologist visits, all the tests and then the surgery. I knew it was going to be hard but we just needed to be there for each other when we needed it.

Andrei turned away from the bottle telling us he was finished and if you didn't catch on soon enough he began crying.
“Hey come on bud,” I took him from Evgeni and he instantly cuddled into me, burring his face into my shirt.
“Why he cry from it?” Evgeni put the bottle down and shifted to put his hand on Andrei's back.
“Sometimes he needs to burp but the doctors says it's because of his breathing, he gets really short of breath and he panics.”
“Oh,” Evgeni's features softened, “will it go away?”
“He will be fine once it's all over.”
“I hope it soon,” Evgeni wrapped his arms around us in a warm hug.
“I hope so too.”

So this is kind of just a filler so I can hopefully get back into the swing of this story again soon.

By the way this is what the nursery 'room' looks like with the shelves, window seat and furniture but not the sailor theme. It is just a simple light grey colour with some pictures hanging on the wall.
