"Hello?" A deep voice answered and Jordin's heart fluttered.

"Hi," She greeted breathlessly and she grinned.

"I've been waiting for you," He chuckled and she felt heat rise to her cheeks, "I missed your voice."

"I missed you too. How was your day? Any rock stars give you any trouble today?" She asked playfully and he laughed. Jordin was under the impression that Cameron was an audio technician at a recording studio and he dealt with absurdities on a daily basis.

"No, not today. I was quite distracted thinking about a certain someone," He stated.

"Oh, trying to make me jealous now?" She asked and he laughed.

"You can't be jealous of yourself," He retorted.

"Touché," She smiled, "So, I have some really exciting news. I wanted to share it with you before anyone one else," She said softly and almost timidly.

"Really?" He asked excitedly, "Well what is it?"

"Before I left my cousin called me. He works in a recording studio too. Well, one of his friends is recording for some band right now and one of their assistants quit. So my cousin got me a job with them. I'm going to be an assistant for some band starting Monday," She explained excitedly.

"No way! Baby, that's so awesome. Are you excited?"

"Yeah!" She exclaimed, "I'm excited and scared and nervous all at once."

"Don't be nervous. Everyone is going to love you," He stated firmly, "But not as much as I love you."

She sighed contently at the sound of his deep velvet voice, "I love you too, Cameron," She replied and the line was silent.

"I bet I love you more," He said softly and she laughed.

"Not possible," She said before pausing, "So... You think you'll be getting any time off soon?" She asked and he sighed.

"I hope so. I really do, Babe. You know I want nothing more than to just hold you."

Jordin could feel the tears forming in her eyes, "Yeah, I know," She whispered.

"Don't be sad, Jordin. Please, I can't handle hearing you sad."

"I'm find, Cam," She assured and he exhaled deeply.

"I promise we're going to be together one day. And it's going to stay like that forever. I'm never going to let you go," He stated.

"Okay," She whispered.

"Say you believe me," He stated.

"What?"

"Say you believe every word I said," He repeated and she sighed, a slight smile forming on her face.

"I believe you, Cameron."

"It's late. You should get to bed. I'll talk to you tomorrow?" He asked.

"Of course," She giggled.

"I'm going to dream about you, Jordin. I love you."

"I love you too."

The line felt silent and she knew he had hung up. Tears cascaded down her cheeks and she bit back a sob. It wasn't fair that she had finally found the person she was meant to be with, and yet they couldn't be together. It was hard.

Cameron was everything Jordin could ever want in a guy. He was smart, caring, and talented. He often would play her some songs on his guitar through the phone, or leave her voicemails with little jingles and a soft 'I love you' at the end. He lived a decent life. A normal one. He had an interesting job, but kept to very minimal things. He didn't need a lot to be happy. Being 22, the only thing she was hesitant about was the fact that Cameron was 26. She was originally looking for someone no older than twenty-four, but what was a few more years? She was often scared that he would see her as immature or he would move on to better things.

Biting her lip, Jordin opened her laptop and quickly logged on. Cameron was offline and she drifted to his profile page. She read is biography again, smiling at the little things she remembered about him. Her eyes drifted to his picture. He was perfect in every way. Strong build, strong jawline, and a sweet face. She never imagined any guy like that to be interested in her. She never thought she would find a man with tattoos to be so caring and loving for her. She had found her soulmate.

But she was still waiting.
