The Forbidden Fruit

Pandemonium

She married him. Grace Grenvilee was now Grace Ramirez. Their love had sparked romance in some of the bridal party partners and also people who had attended. People were speaking of love.
"I shall have tea in my chambers," Mrs Rutherford told a maid as she walked into the house. I wondered what was up with her. I watched as everyone congratulated Grace and Alejandro. Rosemary and Alfonso were also speaking to each other. From he way Rosemary was laughing, I could tell she had forgiven him. Maybe he wanted to turn over a new leaf.
Evening had come and we waved at Alejandro and Grace enter their very own carriage, which Demelza had bought for them. I could tell they had a bright future ahead of them. I grinned at the view as Darius came to stand by my side with a glass of champagne.
"Elise," he smiled as he took a sip and gave the rest to me, "is it not a godly sight before you?"
I nodded in response as I drank it. I looked at his hands, the hands that bought both pleasure and pain to me. The hands that could be so gentle and rough. The hands that knew every inch of me. I shook my head and looked away. I could not allow my mind to indulge itself in such evil thoughts, because the more I thought, the more realized I could never be good enough for George even though he would say different.
He turned and faced me. Stars twinkling above us.
"I love you so much Elise," he said the meaningless words to me. Though he was saying it. There was no love there. It was as if he were just saying the words, or was I thinking like this because George had more passion when he said the words to me. With him, I could believe that he meant his every word, but that was different with Darius. He reached his hand out, ready to grab me closer to him, but he was stopped by George who hit it rather hard. He bowed and apologized for his lack of the properieter.
"I am aware that you are my master," he continued, "but you need to remember that she is my betrothed. You have caused her much pain and I beg that you stop."
"George," I whispered as I grabbed his hand, "let us go."
"No Elise," he said as he pushed my hand away, "I am not quite done talking yet. I love Elise and I shall marry her. You cannot have her."
"Your wording just makes me want to make her mine even more," Darius smirked as he looked George in the eye, "why don't we take this conversation elsewhere. You have perked my interest."
George nodded his head and followed behind Darius, amusedly picking up a big knife on his way there. He threw it to the ground ad picked it back up. I wondered what that was all about. I closed my eyes as I tried to remember the different thing about George. He had not be quite himself. I opened my eyes wide and clicked my finger.
"Alcohol!" I laughed, "George must be drunk. That explains he attitude."
It was amusing. I had never seen him drunk before.
