My American Horror Story

The Dreams

I woke up a couple hours later and recalled having a very strange and unusual dream. I was roaming the house and came upon a door. I stood in front of it, analyzing it like there was some kind of important significance to it. I felt an uneasy feeling from it like there was something behind that door that I did not want to stumble upon or find, yet I was curious as to find out what exactly was behind it. I reached for the door knob slowly and just as I was about to touch it, I woke up. It may seem like a simple dream but it gave me an unsettling feeling that I could not shake. I had never had a dream effect me like this before.

After I recapped my dream, I had this strange feeling that someone was watching me and that I wasn't alone... I warily searched the room with my eyes and saw nothing or no one. This made me very uncomfortable. Feeling this way, I quickly got up and left the room. I did not want to stay there a second longer!

I walked down the stairs and called for my parents, they were in the kitchen. And unfortunately, so was the real estate lady who I did not care to get or know her name.
I asked what was for dinner, their response being whatever I wanted. They were trying to make up for uprooting me from my life and the only things I knew...it wasn't working. I decided to go with Chinese, told them my usual and wandered the house.

I gave myself my own little tour of the first floor and came to the last place I had not seen yet...the basement. But before I opened the door I stopped, I had come to realizing the eerie fact that this was the door...the same exact door from my dream. This, you can imagine, made me hesitate opening it let alone going down there. I, however, being the fearless person that I am, worked up the courage to open it and explore what was or was not in the basement.

I reached for the door knob and all of a sudden "Violet!" my perfectly timed mother called, I jumped from being startled and answered back "Yes?" "Come in the living room please." she requested. I walked into the living room and all three of them were standing there. "She is leaving now, so kindly say goodbye and thank her please." I turned to the real estate lady, who's name I still did not know, and said "Goodbye, thank you." She smiled at me and said "Your welcome." and with that I turned around and headed back up to my room.

I walked into my room and as soon as I did, I felt a strange feeling. This was not normal, but I tried to shake it off as a new house feeling and that I was not use to this surrounding so this is how my body was coping and adjusting to it.

I went over to my desk, turned on my laptop and put on some music. I then went to my bed and just laid there, staring at the ceiling. After about a minute or two, I grabbed my sketchbook and started to draw. I drew random objects in my room, like my nail polish and such. Upon observing my room to see what I could find to draw, I came across a chalkboard that was a part of the wall that facing in the room was on the left and facing the door was on the right. I was surprised at how I didn't notice this at first, until now. I really needed to start paying attention more... Anyway, I thought it was really cool and loved the idea of having it in my room.

At that moment, my mother called me for dinner, I shut off my music and headed downstairs. I grabbed my food and sat down at the counter top in the kitchen. I had told my parents about the newly discovered chalkboard that I came upon and how I definitely wanted it to stay if we changed anything in or about the house. They said it was no problem, that they were glad I had found something I liked about the house and not to worry because it was staying as is.

After dinner I went back up to my room. When I walked in I had noticed that my music was playing and I remember shutting it off...or at least I had thought, anyway. This confused me and freaked me out a little at the same time, so I decided to get out of my room for a while. I was going to do more, or finish, some exploring... And so with that, I shut off my music and laptop and went on my exploration.

And you know where that had led me... Yes, the basement. I went down the stairs and to the door. I hesitated again but forced myself to open it and delve into this eerie and mystery that was the basement. As I was opening it, I was expecting something scary and frightening to pop out being the usual, stereotypical feeling but nothing did. There was just blackness. I flipped the light switch and on went the light, this making the frightened feeling in my stomach a little better. I took a deep breath, then embarked on my mission into the unknown.

I took my first step down the stairs and each one was the longest and loudest, I had ever taken. After what seems like forever, I had reached the bottom of the steps. As soon as my foot had touched that basement floor, I knew something was wrong down here and what I did not know. I had taken a few steps in the center of the room, looked around quickly and decided I had seen and been there long enough... It was time to go! I turned around and maturely ran up the steps, I shut the light off, closed the door and was done with that for today.

So once again I was off to my room. When I had gotten there my music was playing, except this time I was sure I had not only turned off the music but my laptop as well. I cautiously and quickly, as if something were to happen, shut off the music and laptop and put it back in my bag I had it in. I decided I was not going to let this freak me out and acted as if it never had happened. It had been a long day and I did not want to make it any worse!

I looked at the time, quarter of ten, and decided for the long day that I was having, that it was late enough and that I would end this horrible day by going to bed.

This time in my dream, I had opened the door and ended up in the basement. It was quiet and dark but I could tell it was my basement. It was so quiet yet it seemed as if I could hear something...something moving but I couldn't see anyone or anything and I was alone, or so I thought... I felt another presence in the room like somebody else was down there with me. And then, all of a sudden, I could feel someone or something behind me. I turned around and with a gasp, saw a shadowed figure right there in front of me. And then I woke up...

It was one o'clock in the morning. I groaned, rolled over and fell back asleep. Surprisingly but not at the same time, I also fell back into the dream. This time I had a face to the figure and an ease in the room and unknown, now faced, figure.

He had semi-long, blonde wavy yet shaggy hair with dark brown eyes; had to be no taller than 5'11" and seemed to be in pretty well shape from the form of his shadowed figure. His face, so innocent and yet there was something off about it as well. But I couldn't help but me mesmerized by it, by him. He had to be no older than eighteen by the young look of his face.

There was something about his eyes as I couldn't help but stare into them as he looked at me. We just stood there staring at each other in silence. I could tell that he was going to say something. Before I could find out what, I woke up...
