Status: Sorry that I haven't updated in forever...it's been really tough to do anything in general with college and the work they give. It's hard to find time to write and finish the next chapter and update... Again, I am so sorry guys and will update as soon as I can!

My American Horror Story

The Neighbors

I went downstairs for breakfast, it was about ten, and I ate some cereal. Afterwards, I headed back upstairs for a shower. While in the shower, I recalled my dream and the mysterious figure in it. It was weird...the dream and basement gave off this creepy and unsafe vibe but as soon as I had a face to the figure, saw his face, it was as if everything was okay and better, like nothing could hurt me with him there. This might sound weird but I think I was attracted to him, something draws me to this unknown dream figure and I want to know more.

Deciding that this was weird and probably unhealthy, I switched my thoughts to something else. I focused on what song was playing in the background and went with the stereotypical, singing in the shower. As usual...I had really gotten in to the song and started singing even louder. I was in the middle of the song and I could have sworn I heard laughing, so naturally I called out "Who's there?" and waited but did not get a response. I stuck my head out of the shower and looked for someone but no one was there. Though this was strange, I figured I was just hearing things and went back to showering.

After I showered and got dressed, I sat on my bed and decided to draw. I drew his face, I wanted to try and capture him on paper and bring my mystery guy to reality. I made sure I had gotten every detail right. I'm not the best at drawing people but I tried. I made it my goal to draw him. After I finished doing that for a couple of hours, I decided to get out of my room for a little bit and went downstairs. I relocated to the living room and thought that I would see if anything good was on tv. I wasn't much of a fan, only if something really good was on. Of course though, nothing was so I turned it off and just sat there. Then the doorbell rang...

My mom answered the door. "Hello." she said to whomever was at the door, "Hello, my name is Constance Langdon, I'm your neighbor. I wanted to stop bye and say welcome. This is my daughter Adelaide." "Say hello, Addie." Then I heard a girls voice say "Hello." My mother responded "Hello and thank you, it's nice to meet you. I'm Vivien, Vivien Harmon. I do have a daughter, Violet, she's around here somewhere..." I knew it was coming. Then she called my name, so I had to pry myself off of the couch. I walked over to the front door and my mom said "Oh, there you are. Violet, this is Mrs. Langdon and her daughter Adelaide. They are our neighbors from across the street." "Oh no, honey, it's Constance not Mrs." I just said the usual "Hello, nice to meet you." Then Constance said "I have a son, where ever he is... He likes to disappear and just pop up when he feels like it. So, you might see him and if you do, don't be scared, he always does it because he's use to doing it." "Good to know..." my mom said. "Thank you."

"Come in." My mom said, "All this talk distracted me... Where are my manners?" "It's alright, thank you." Constance said. And so we all walked to the kitchen. "Would you like some coffee or tea?" my mom asked. "I'll have tea please, Addie's fine." answered Constance. I grabbed some iced-tea from the fridge and joined them at the kitchen countertop.

"Are you all moved and settled in to the house yet?" Constance asked. My mother responded with "Just about." "All ready for school? I believe you are starting tomorrow... You don't want to start any later than you can and be too far behind, of course." And then it hit me...school. I completely forgot about it and didn't realize that tomorrow is Monday and that I would be starting school. Shit! I was not ready for this. And then I replied, "I guess, about as ready as I'll ever be..."

And with that there was a response following a laugh from an unknown voice behind me. "School sucks, I'm glad I don't have to go anymore." Then Constance followed by saying, "And this is my son, as you can see he just lets himself in." I turned around and at that moment was completely and utterly speechless.

"Hey, I'm Tate." he said.

This was the face, the face from my dream...

In complete shock I could not find words or seem to remember my name. And as he gave a little laugh I came back to reality and found the words to introduce myself. "I'm...Violet." I managed to choke out. "Violet." he said. "That's a nice name, I like it." "Thank you." I said. He held out his hand and said "Nice to meet you" with a smile so beautiful and hypnotizing. I reached out my hand to shake his, and I was actually shaking. I was so nervous. I said "Nice to meet you, too" then grabbed his and shook it. As soon as our hands touched I felt something, something that sent vibrations and chills throughout my entire body and I couldn't help but wonder if he felt them too.

"And what he means by that, is that he is home schooled." Constance said and I came to from this trance that he had me in.

I didn't know what to say or do, so I just quietly sat there and drank my iced-tea. He moved from where he was standing behind me, to the seat next to me. I couldn't help but look over at him, I studied his face as I did, so beautiful. As I was doing so he turned and looked at me, I could feel my face turn red and he could see it. He laughed and smiled at me. In that moment my heart skipped a beat. I could not break the effect he had on me and could not stop staring at him, his face and his smile...that smile, how it sends chills throughout my whole body when he smiles at me. When he smiles, dimples form in his cheeks and make his smile even more amazing and beautiful than it already is. Oh those dimples...how they could have this much of an effect over me!

I had to stop, he probably thinks that I'm some creepy, lovesick little girl the way I was practically drooling over him. But when he looked at me, I felt as if he didn't think I was but he actually liked that I was staring at him. Maybe so that he could stare at me and knew that by me doing so, I was infatuated by and with him.

My stare was interrupted, thankfully in a way, by his mom. "Well, we must be going. We have things to attend to. Thank you for the tea." she said. "Your welcome. Thank you for the welcome. You know where we live if you ever need anything." my mom responded. And with that he got up, which means he had to leave too sadly. Although, it was sort of a good thing, I think I've had enough staring for one day... But I could stare at him all day and wouldn't mind that at all!

We all got up and walked to the front door. My mother said goodbye as did Constance and Addie. After that my mom could tell that she was no longer needed...or wanted so she left but not before giving me "the look." And then it was just me and Tate. I was a little nervous and the awkward silence didn't help. I just looked at him and smiled, he did the same. There it was again, that smile of his the one that made me melt and weak to my knees. I could never show that around him though, of course. He then said "I have to go but it was really nice meeting you. I'm glad it was you who moved in as our new neighbors. I hope I see you again." As he said those few sentences, he gave a look that I won't forget and my heart wouldn't let me... He looked at me like he really meant what he said and with more than just friendly feelings behind it. I said "It was really nice meeting you, too. I'm glad I did and I hope so, too. Goodbye." with a blushing smile in response to his. And with that, and one last glance as he turned looking back, he left.
