Carlisle drew more blood and races to the hospital, Bri decides to grab Alice and pull her away. Alice:” What’s wrong?” Bri:” I feel like someone’s coming…” Alice smiled and told her not to worry, and since they were in her room, Alice decided to do a make over. Alice:” Carlisle wants to take the family out to dinner.” Bri:” But there’s two things wrong with that. One is that I’m not family, and two is that vampires don’t eat.” Alice:” Oh Amberia, you’re Jazz’s sister which makes you family to us. I know we don’t eat but it’s a formality. Carlisle still would like to take the family out to dinner including you and Bella since you’re both family.” Bri smiled giving Alice a hug, then waited. They all made some small talk and Bri kept glancing at Alice. There was a candle on the table and Bri kept watching the flame, very intrigued. Jasper caught Bri’s eye, when they locked eyes he ever so slightly shook his head no. Bri nodded but the moment she sucked in a breath of air, all the flames on all of the candles flickered, then they seemed to form one ball and go into Bri’s mouth. She didn’t pay attention to any of it, and simply took a drink. Carlisle’s eyes held both fright and fascination. Alice had a vision but only got the look of someone from the Volturi’s clothes. Alice:” Carlisle, we should head back home.” He nodded, they all got up and left. The moment Bri was in the house, Carlisle asked if he could look at her and asked how she felt. Bri told him that she feels fine, but he pulled out his stethoscope and listened to her lungs. Carlisle:” Hmm, perfectly normal yet very odd.” Bri:” I still feel like someone’s coming.” Alice:” There is someone coming, and it’s someone from the Volturi.” Carlisle:” Are you sure they’re from the Volturi?” Alice nodded, Carlisle looked around to see if Aro had sent anymore letters but he hadn’t. Carlisle:” Did Aro mention anything about someone coming Bri?” Bri:” No, but I might know who it is….Demetri.” Bella:” But how do you know it’s him?” Bri:” Aro mentioned in his last letter that Demetri was missing me but still having trouble being in the same room as humans.” Carlisle looked at the letter, Carlisle:” This letter was sent a week and a half ago. It must be him, well we all need to get ready. Maybe you should bring Bella home?” Edward looked at Alice, Alice:” No there’s no time. He’ll be here shortly.” To Bri’s amazement, Rosalie stood in front of her, as did Emmett. Bri sensed it as well because she showed Rosalie that she’s absolutely no threat to her but that she can snap a rude comment too. Rosalie feels like she should at least try and protect Bri, even if Emmett might still like her. But her being part of the family everyone’s changing how they feel.
Bri wasn’t scared but she grabbed both Emmett’s and Rosalie’s hands, Alice looked at Carlisle and gave him a nod. Carlisle:” Hmm, does he come here or is there time to draw him to a place we want?” Alice:” There’s enough time to draw him to a place of our choosing. We should draw him to the baseball field.” Rosalie turned to Emmett and although they didn’t speak a word to each other, he nodded while she lifted Bri onto his back. Rosalie:” Hold tight.” Bri didn’t know what to say so she gave Rosalie a nod who nodded back. Carlisle left first with Esme, then Alice and Jasper. Edward put Bella on his back and he ran off after, then Rose and Emmett. Before they left however, Rosalie looked at Bri and asked if she was ready. Bri:” Yes, I’m ready.” They ran to the field, every now and then they’d stop to let Bri run her hands over things and leave strands of hair that were on her hand when she ran her hand through her hair. Bella and Edward were close to Alice and Jasper, Bella looked at Alice and asked how long it was before they’d see Demetri. Alice:” He caught her scent and is heading are way now.” They formed a small semi circle, Rose and Emmett still close and in front of Bri. In the far end of the clearing there stood Demetri, he ran so he stood not far from the Cullens. Carlisle was in the front so he spoke, Carlisle:” Ah Demetri, to what do we owe this fine pleasure?” Demetri:” I need to see her, I have to see her. Where is she?” Carlisle turned to Rosalie and Emmett, he gave them a nod and they both slightly moved. Alice:” Rose, Em follow her, she wants to talk to him.” They stayed close to her as she waked forward. When Demetri saw her he smiled, Demetri:” It’s you, ah so beautiful you really are.” Bri:” Demetri, I hope that you haven’t come all this way to see me. Aro’s letter he sent a week and a half ago informed me that you were still struggling. You shouldn’t be here, Carlisle and his family help look out for those humans they live among and surround themselves with.” Demetri:” I had to see you. (Turns towards Carlisle) Carlisle, do you think you and your family could help me gain control?” Carlisle went to speak but Bri shook her head and cut him off, Carlisle:” What is it Bri?” Bri:” No, I know you’re compassion and how you never turn those away who seek out help and guidance but you can’t. I will not let you help him only so Aro can have a chance of mind and send the guards here for both of us or myself. I will be to blame as well as blame myself for Demetri’s desertion and if Aro finds out that you offered to help, he might come for all of you and I don’t want that for my new family, Carlisle.” He stood there a moment, then he seemed to agree with her and turned back towards Demetri. Carlisle:” My Daughter’s right Demetri. If we help you who’s to say Aro won’t send the rest of the guards after you or he himself comes here for you and Bri.” Bri:” I’m sorry Demetri, I understand that you want to be near me without harming me, or having me harmed in anyway but it’s just too dangerous for myself but also for them, and I don’t want to see anything come to harm them in any way. Before you leave however, I would like to thank you for saving me from the vampire who bite me. I want you to have this….” She took off her little jacket she was wearing and threw it over to him which Emmett paid close attention to. Bri threw it, landing right at his feet. “Impressive for a human, don’t you think so Edward?,” Emmett. Bri:” Not now Emmett, don’t start.” Demetri picked up the jacket looking at her, Demetri:” I shall leave. Maybe with this I’ll be able to help myself and gain control better. Goodbye dear Bri, until we shall meet again.” Demetri ran, Jasper ran after him to make sure he was really gone. Esme pulled Bri into a hug and imply whispered Thank You in her ear. Bri:” Can we please go back home, I’m cold.” They headed back to the house and just as they got there, Bella realized something. Bella:” Wait a minute, does anyone else find it odd that Bri said Not Now Emmett, don’t start?” Edward looked at Bella then over to Bri, he too just putting what happened moments ago together. Edward told Rosalie to in a whisper to think of something, she nodded. “I love my monkey man!,” Rosalie. Bri:” What, we all know that she calls Emmett her monkey man and that she loves him.” Before anyone said anything, he looked at Bella. “What, why’re you looking at me like that?,” Bella. Bri:” Bella, I’m as lost as you are. I haven’t the faintest clue why he’s looking at you like that.” Bella looked at Bri in surprise, Edward looked at Carlisle curiously but he gave a nod back. Carlisle:” I will be in my study then at the hospital probably.” They nodded, Bri looked to Esme for help, Esme:” It appears that you can now read minds as well as what else you’re capable of honey.” Bri walked away grumbling to herself that she doesn’t want to read minds. Emmett smiled, shaking his head and turning on some sports. “I guess I can’t stop him from liking her but at least I know he’s mine and in love with me!,” Rosalie.
As they settled down, Bella sat down looking at nothing in particular just thinking. Then she spoke, Bella:” Ok so we know she can influence the elements sort of, she’s strong and fast yet still remains human. Is it just me or does she seem to absorb a little bit of those around her? I mean we didn’t know that she was even strong until she not only threw her jacket to Demetri but when Emmett took her into the woods before to see. However if I do that I just can’t stand there and help or even watch them slaughter innocent humans, and I won’t be a part of it. Since the day she was bitten all she was ever frightened of was that burning pain and the red eyes, now she’s frightened for her life and because she fears that it might happen all over again. However, she’s scared of what’s going to or might happen to us if she turns. Just let her be for now.” He nodded, but couldn’t take it and left the house. Bella jumped when she heard a knock on the door, Rosalie:” Ugh, who invited the dog?” Edward got up and went to the door, Edward:” Jacob, what’s the occasion?” Jacob looked around then asked to come in. Edward rolled his eyes but stepped aside to let Jacob in. Bella:” Jake, um what is it?” Jacob:” Is something happening here? I ask due to a few more boys from the reservation just shifting and they’re only as old as Seth, one’s even just thirteen.” Bella glanced at Edward who disappeared for a moment, while Jacob was about to say something when he heard Bri crying. Bella saw it in his eyes that he was curious, yet he also seemed frightened a little which she has never seen before, except once. Jacob:” Is that Bri who’s crying?” Bella nodded and instantly became nervous being around him. Edward returned and was back at her side, arm around her and she calmed down. Edward:” Carlisle told me that I can share what’s going on or what we know so far as he is running more tests trying to figure it out himself.” Jacob:” Ok, what do you know so far and about what?” Edward:” Bri, the one Bella has told you about. It seems that the venom inside of her for some reason didn’t kill her obviously but now she’s experiencing some supernatural abilities. We just witnessed some of her strength, when she climbed up a tree before, she climbed faster then a normal human would or does. Bri can influence the elements which you saw when your friend Paul made her angry. Now it seems that she can read minds, that’s why Carlisle is running more tests, and why she’s crying.” Jacob nodded, Jacob:” Um, can I go see her?” Bella went to protest but Alice shook her head no confusing Bella.

Finally he knocked on the door, he heard her getting up to get it, then the door opened. Bri stood in the door way with a blanket around her shoulders, still in the dress from dinner. She wiped her eyes on the blanket and looked up. Bri:” Jake, wh-what’re you doing here?” Jacob:” Oh I was in the area and wanted to see if Bella was here. Are you ok?” Bri took the blanket off and grabbed a napkin to wipe her eyes more, Bri:” Oh ya, I’m fine. You know I’m sure they told you anyways, since there’s like no secrets in this house.” He just stood there staring at her, he couldn’t help it. Bri:” I just don’t know what to do. Do I stay here and enjoy whatever life I have left with my new family, do I go back to Italy and be a part of it’s royal guard but then again I don’t think I can. I can’t stand there and be a part or watch them slaughter innocent humans, or other beings for that matter and I most definitely won’t help. I doubt Aro would let me step aside when they did those things as well either. Ugh, why can’t it be simply and I die right now.” Jacob couldn’t help it, he grabbed her and pulled her into a hug, Jacob:” Whatever you’re going through you should realize that it’ll be easier on you since you’re with the Cullens. You might not want anything coming after they my they’re tougher and smarter then you think. It won’t be you protecting them as much as you try, it’ll be them protecting you! Bri they can help you or find others you can help you with your situation so you’ll never be alone.” Bri hugged him back, she wanted to ask why he felt so hot but opted to ask another time. He wiped away the tears that were still on her cheeks and she gave him a kiss on the cheek whispering Thank you in his ear.
