Darcy Willows

Darcy could’ve sworn that she could still feel Harry’s lips against hers. It felt like he was still there, melting her heart with his touch, and she couldn’t help but smile. They hadn’t talked about their kiss or what it meant, and that terrified Darcy, but she wasn’t going to let her nerves ruin the way she felt.

When a knock pressed against Darcy’s door, it startled her, because she wasn’t expecting company, but she answered it with a hurry, hoping that whoever it was wouldn’t want much.

She opened the door and was surprised to see Harry standing there, his hands shoved in his pockets and his curls running over his face. His eyes met hers and a small smile fell to his lips.

“Can I come in?”

It took Darcy a minute to speak, only because she was so surprised to see him, but when she did she quickly nodded her head. “Of course, yes.”

She stepped to the side, allowing Harry to walk through, and shut the door gently behind him. He moved immediately to her sofa, in the spot that he always sat, and she sat next to him.

She could feel an intense pressure throughout the room, and it made it incredibly hard for her to think. She was so terrified of Harry was there – why he had randomly shown up at her doorstep – and she still hadn’t decided if it was a good sign or a bad one.

“Darcy,” Harry almost whispered, causing her to twist her head towards him, hoping it would mean he was going to crash his lips against hers again.

Instead he just looked at her, his lips quivering as he took her in. The whole thing was confusing her and she just wished that whatever was going to happen would happen so she wouldn’t’ have to be so apprehensive anymore.

It was a long moment of Harry just looking at her before he finally moved again. He reached out for her so quickly that she didn’t even have time to react. His fingers wrapped in her hair while his other hand pressed against the small of her back, pulling his closer to her. His lips were on hers just as quickly and she couldn’t help but sigh against them as they moved against her.

She didn’t know where he had learned to kiss like that and she didn’t really want to think about it. All she wanted to do was kiss Harry, because it felt more wonderful than discovering any of the findings that she had while at Atello. Kissing Harry was like the most amazing experience in the world, and if he was roller coaster at her favorite theme park, she would’ve waited in line all day just to kiss him again.

Darcy was so wrapped up in the feeling of Harry kissing her that she didn’t realize how heated things had become until her knees were placed on either side of him, her straddling him and him holding tightly onto her hips.

Harry let out a sigh that was lost in their kiss before he pulled away gently, keeping Darcy’s forehead pressed against his. His breath was falling quickly and heavily, just like hers was, and he could barely speak between breaths.

“Darce,” he whispered, his chest heaving up and down. “Wait.”

Darcy felt her heart drop in her chest, because she knew that wait never meant anything good. Wait meant ‘this was a mistake’, ‘I shouldn’t have done this’, or ‘I have to get the hell out of here’, and she felt her body freeze up in anticipation of hearing any of those phrases.

“What is it?” she managed to say, her throat feeling like it was closing up.

“We have to slow down.”

“Why?”

Harry chuckled, placing a small kiss against her lips that was so quick she didn’t have a chance to reciprocate it. “We haven’t even had a proper date.”

“So?”

Harry smiled again, so big that it looked like it hurt, and Darcy wondered if he was secretly making fun of her.

“So… I don’t want to move too quickly and risk messing something up.”

“How could –”

“Just trust me, Darce,” Harry interrupted, reaching his hand up to move a loose strand of hair out of her face. “Are you busy Friday night?”

Darcy shook her head.

“Let me take you on a date then. A real one. As more than friends. And after that we can kiss until our hearts are content.” He paused, looking at her with a smile on his face. “Deal?”

Honestly, Darcy probably would have said yes to anything Harry had asked at that moment, but that deal was certainly one that she could agree to.

“Deal.”
