Farley's House of Homo-sapiens

The Zipper

James awoke on a deflated air mattress in the run down living room of Zach’s apartment. He brushed his hand through his shaggy black hair, and glanced over to his phone. It was almost 10:30 in the morning.

“Zach, you up yet?” James called as he stood up.

“Yeah. Just made me a bowl of cereal.” Zach danced into the living room.

“Nice moves.” James scoffs as he walked into the kitchen. As he approached the cabinet, he noticed a faint glint of light from the doorway.

Curios, James stepped out of the kitchen. There, on the wall, just before the apartment door, was a large, silver zipper, from ceiling to floor.

“Uh, Zach. How long as this been here?” James called back to the living room.

“The door’s always been there, bro.” Zach joked as he turned the corner. “Holy Snapple. What is that?”

“Apparently, a door.” James mocked.

“Shut up smartass. Help me unzip it.” He leaned down and started pulling up the tab.

“Are you stupid? You don’t know what’s back there.” James slapped his hands.

“Don’t be a pussy, let’s go.” Zach finished unzipping it, and started opening it. “It’s a zoo… I think.”
