“Are you sure your ready for this? There is always the option of waiting.” I couldn't help but to worry for him. Sure, he had survived the concert this far, all the way to the final song, but I had worried the entire time. I spent most of the concert in the dressing room, obsessing over my outfit and my hair. Typical girl things, but in the back of my mind there was that aching feeling.

Was Vic okay? How was he feeling?

Yet here I was, microphone in hand, shaking from the stage fright.

“Sutton, I'm going to be fine, but if you keep pacing you'll run a hole into the floor.” Vic said laughing, “I have to get back out there and introduce the song. Just remember your cue and then belt it.” He smiled and then ran out onto stage with the others. They collected their instruments and Vic took his place at the microphone.

He waved to the crowd, “So this next song is called 'Hold On Till May'. Now, as you know, I need a female to accompany me for this song. Tonight, I'm lucky to have one. Her name is Sutton Vega. You may know her as our merchie, but I know her as an amazing person and an equally amazing singer.”

The first chords of the song rang out and soon enough Vic's voice followed in perfect harmony. I checked my clothes to make sure I was physically ready, maybe it was just my nerves, but nothing seemed right to me. I listened carefully to the lyrics of the song, awaiting my cue.

“Darling you'll be okay,” My cue was seconds away, I took a step forward and then eased my way onto stage,”And she said.”

I raised the microphone and belted it, just as Vic had instructed me to. The words came out, so full of emotion. I made my way over to Vic, he smiled at me and then picked up with the final piece of the song. Our voices flowed together perfectly, as if they were meant to be together. As the song finished, the roar of the crowd drained away any other noise. I was lost in it, mesmerized by the sound. Vic said good night to the crowd and waved dramatically. I smiled brightly and waved as well, blowing a few kisses to the crowd. His fingers intertwined with mine and he led me off stage. The crowd was still screaming, begging for an encore that they just wouldn't get. Not tonight, at least. Backstage was complete chaos. Jaime was yelling about his bass stand not being in the right spot and no one being there to take it. Two of Mike's fingers were broken and Tony was no where in sight. Vic handed his guitar off to a random tech and I placed my microphone on the rack before easing my way out and into the hallway. I couldn't stop smiling. Vic was doing just the same as he approached me, he grabbed my hand and pulled me along with him. I followed in tow as we ran out of the back entrance.

“Where are we going?” I questioned

Vic pulled me around to the back of the bus before answering, “Up.”

I was confused at first, but when I saw exactly what he was referring to I backed away. The small silver ladder sat a little ways up from the base of the bus, as if warning you not to climb up. Which is exactly what I had planned to do.

“No. Not a chance.” I said, holding my hands up in defeat.

“Yes you are. Stop fighting, up you go.” I sighed in frustration and grabbed a hold of one of the silver rungs, placed my foot on another and pulled myself up. I wasn't a fan of heights and this surely wasn't on my agenda for the night. I reached the top and crawled onto to the roof, Vic joining me seconds later.

“What are we doing up here?” I shouted, giggling in between words.

He eased himself over to the center of the roof and extended a hand out to me, which I gladly accepted.

“Just lay back.” He instructed.

My arms were shaking as they supported me, I eased myself backward and laid on my back. Vic laid down next to me and pointed upward.

“See that? That's the Big Dipper and over there, yeah, that's the Little Dipper.” Vic stated, I watched his finger as he pointed to the different constellations in the sky. I didn't know he knew so much about the stars, “And that's it because I don't know a damn thing about the stars.”

I couldn't help but to laugh and shove him a little. He laughed too, his laugh was one of the sweetest sounds.

“So why did you really bring me up here?” I asked, turning to look at him.

“It's just so beautiful up here, don't you think? I thought you might enjoy it.” He was right, it surely was beautiful and I did enjoy it.

I rested my head back on my folded arms and inspected the stars. I tried to make out which stars made constellations and which ones were just there, twinkling in the night sky. I don't know how long we sat there in silence, just watching. Vic turned to me and started watching me instead.

“What?” I asked, feeling self conscious,”Why are you looking at me?”

I rolled to look at him, smiling and giggling a little since he was still starring. He reached out and brushed the hair away from my face. A smile played on his lips as his hand began to caress my cheek. If I could name a perfect moment from this tour so far, I'm sure most would think that it was my first time on stage, but it wasn't. It was this moment, right then, laying on the rooftop next to Vic. With his hand on my face, laying under the stars in perfect silence. We were so close, close enough that our breath was mixing together in the crisp air. I could feel his on my lips, we were so close, yet so far away. I could see him inching closer by the second.

“Vic.” I whispered, knowing exactly what was coming next.

He didn't reply, just continued to ease forward. Our lips connected, meshed together so perfectly. I hesitated at first, questioning if this was right. He was my boss, hell, he was Vic Fuentes, lead singer in a famous band. Yet here I was, kissing back, laying together on the roof. Maybe I stand corrected, this was the perfect moment. Vic pulled me over so I was half way on top of him, his hands cupped my face. I'll have to admit, things became a little heated, but we both knew that wasn't the place for such things.

I pulled away, laughing a little, “Vic, this isn't the place for all this.” He smiled in return.

“I know, I know. Come on, let's get out of here before they drive away with us still up here.”

We crawled across the roof again and eased our way back down the ladder. I wasn't sure where this left Vic and I. I mean, he had just kissed me, that was it. Nothing else. After all, he was my boss. I had to work for him for the rest of the tour no matter what happened between us. Did I really want to risk it all? Risk our friendship? My job? Everything.

There would surely be some things to think about.

Hopefully this isn't completely terrible.

They had their first kiss! But Sutton is questioning it.
