Tin Soldier
Once upon a time, my heart had been empty. And I had been alone.
The world was a terrible and sinister place; shrouded forever in the darkest of nights and soaked with the wrath of war. Built on tears and carnage, the earth was stained a deep ruby and blanketed with the stench of death. And yet, within the mess of battle, there was life. A single candle flickering amongst the chaos.
In the midst of the crimson mayhem stood a lonely soldier. Wrapped in scraps of tin, my armour gleamed a dull silver beneath the cold light of the moon. My body, ravaged and torn, sealed my inevitable death and before long I would be one of thousands lost in the sea of bloodshed. I was a dying flame.
Until I met her.
