Kissing Death
Dear Rick,
Remember when I told you that the end is the beginning? I’m hoping you see things that way now. If this journal is in your hands, then that means I am gone. You and I both knew I didn’t have the will to live as much as you did, but you kept me moving. Don’t think that you’ve failed me. My life was never your responsibility.
I wish I could explain how much I love you. You and I may have started out the wrong way, but I’ve always known that things would end justly.
After all you’ve done for me, I just have one more request. Don’t lose this journal. Knowing that I’m a history teacher, you’re more than aware that I would die to contribute to the next chapter of our country’s story. And I know you’ll make it until all of this is over.
Stay strong for me. For yourself. And for your family.

I'm sorry this is so short, but I had to leave it at that. I'm taking all day to write, so there's a strong chance that I'll be done with another chapter tonight. Can't make any promises though, lol.
