Rubidium is your average messed up teenage girl. She was taken from the group home where she lived in with her best friend in New York, to live with her scientist parents in Texas. Their side venture, an oil business, has just made them billions of dollars and they are ready to be in their daughter's life. Her grandfather's death also left them with all the old wealth he had stored away. So with more then enough spending cash to spare they adopt Ruby's best friend Dixie to make their Ruby happy. Her new life begin in Dallas, Texas.

Ruby's constant comfort were her dreams. She has been having dreams of James Clark since she was three. He has aged with her over the years and has always been there for her. He was her very best friend a girl could ever have. The very best love, a girl could dream up. To bad this perfect dream guy was not real. Right?
