Mummy Told Me
Mummy told me
"Mummy told me never to open the basement door" said Alex, "but i wanted to see what was making that noise down there." he shuddered slightly for no obvious reason.
"It kind of sounded like a puppy and i always wanted a puppy, so i opened the basement door and just tip toed down a bit.I just wanted a peek at the puppy, that's all." Alex look as though he was ready to heave but didn't show any sign of slowing down his story. "I didn't see a puppy. Then mummy came and yanked me back up stairs and yelled at me to never go down there again. Never Never Never." Alex waggled his finger back and forth as though he were his mummy. "mummy had never yelled at me before so i was scared and i cried and she said,
" honey, I'm sorry" and gave me a cookie; it was chocolate chip which is my favourite" he said patting his belly triumphantly but still being very green in the face. "i felt better so i didn't ask her why the boy in the basement was saying its me jack let me out, making that sad puppy noise, or why he had no hands or feet." Alex at this point spun on his heels and evacuated what looked like the Sunday dinner from 3 night previous.
