Crazy Summer Time

-Fast forward a few days-

Alexs POV:
Today was the day of Sophies aunts funeral, she was being buried here next to her husband. This morning has been pretty hectic since we need to out of the house by 10. Right now i was waiting for the kids to get up, they were being really slow.

"Guys hurry the hell up!" i yelled up the stairs

"Dad do i need to wear a suit, its summer!. Its to damn hot!" Micah said coming down the stairs

"Yes you do. Thats what you wear to funerals" i said

"Its hot though" he said

"To bad. Wheres your sister?" i asked

"Her room" he said going into the kitchen

"Casey. Hurry the hell up!, were seriously running out of time here!" i yelled up the stairs

"Question father" she said walking down the steps

"What?" i asked

"Why do i have to go?. I dont even know this lady!" she said

"I know but shes family, thats how it works. Your mother knew her so thats enough to make us all go" i said

"Dad i really-" she started to whine but i cut her off, i was getting really pissed off

"Your going!. You cant convince me otherwise Casey!. Please for the love of god just do this without complaining, its a tough enough day as it is" i said

"Fine" she sighed annoyed

We left for the funeral and everyone was quiet during the ride, i guess i really shouldnt expect my family to be talkative today. We got to the funeral parlor and all of Sophies family were there. I saw Jack with his arm around Melinda and i went over to them.

"Hey dude" i said

"Hey" he said

"How are you Melinda?" i asked hugging her

"Fine, hows Sophie?" she asked

"Shes okay. Pretty damn upset" i said

"Where is she?" she asked

"Over there talking to one of your cousins" i said

"Im gonna go make sure shes okay" she said to Jack, her and Sophie were really really close to this aunt so it was hard for them

"Yeah go ahead" Jack said

"Okay" she said and hugged him and she left

"So how are you doing?" he asked eyeing me. He knows i hate funerals with a burning passion. All the sadness and everything just makes me feel awkward since im not the type to cry and i also just get anxious but thats normal im sure

"So far so good" i laughed

"Good" he said

"Mhm. Wheres Adam?" i asked

"Friends house" he said

"Lucky him" i said and he nodded

"Hey Alex and Jack. Thanks for coming" Sophies mom said coming over with Melindas dad, their siblings with Sophies aunt who died

"Of course, sorry for your guys loss" i said and Jack nodded

"Thanks, have you seen our girls?" she asked

"Im not sure where they are" i said

"I saw them go outside" Jack said

"Ohhh" i said

"Okay. I'll see you two later" she said and we nodded

The funeral was very sad as it should be, ive never seen Sophie so upset. After the funeral everyone came to our house for a get together which was less sad and i was happy about that. Halfway through the get together Sophie went upstairs, Jack came over to me and nudged me.

"You should go see if shes okay" he said

"Mhm. Come with me?" i asked

"Yeah" he said and we went upstairs and i knocked on our bedroom door and walked in

"Hey babe" i said

"Hey" she said

"Are you alright?" i asked

"No" she said

"You wanna talk?" i asked and she stared at Jack

"Uhmm...i dont know" she said

"Jack go downstairs" i said and he left the room

"Alright. Talk" i said lying on the bed next to her

"Just miserable" she said

"Thats understandable" i said

"I know...im just so pissed that shes gone" she said

"I know" i said

"I was thinking, you know you only live one and the kids and everyone elses kids havnt gone on crazy trips to other states. Hell theres places i havnt been. I think we should all take a vacation, Melinda is totally for it" she said

"You mean like our family, Jacks family, Rians family and Zacks?" i asked

"Yes!. And anyone else we can think of to join!" she said

"Sure. Im totally in" i said

"Great!" she said
