Still the One

XLVI.

I start the day at uni with a fresh math test in front of me. I let my eyes glance over the set of problems.

You know this Libby.

Harry's voice coaches me through the set of problems reminding me which steps to do first. I didn't mind I was the last one out of the room once I finished. I took the test up to my professor hesitantly handing the test over to the woman, whom I'm certain despises me.

‘I hope you've managed not to make the same careless mistakes.’ She says, her voice full of arrogance. I nod my head before walking out the room. I pull my phone out as I walk to my next class to avoid the looks from the other students. The next class goes by faster than the first and I was off to my internship at Glamour. The drive was fairly quick considering the traffic and all.

‘Libby! How was Australia?’ Tiffany asks as soon as I get off of the lift.

‘It was incredible. Tokyo was even better.’ I gush happily as I go to unlock the door to my office. There are a large stack of papers waiting for me as promised. I waste no time burying myself into the work.

‘Knock Knock.’ Jackie stands in the doorway knocking on the door. ‘Wow is that the finished pile?’ she gawks at the thick sheet of papers on my desk.

‘Yes ma'am. Catching up for days missed.’ I reply. She opens her mouth to say something when the phone on the desk rings. ‘Yes?’ I answer.

‘Harry Styles is here to see you.’ Tiffany says into the phone. Her excitement was clear.

‘Send him in.’ I say hanging up the phone, ‘my boyfriend's here.’ I inform Jackie just as Harry walks down the hallway with Tiffany in front of him.

‘Thank you.’ Harry says to Tiffany before stepping through the doorway, ‘I hope I'm not disrupting anything. I just wanted to see if Libby wanted to get lunch.’ Harry grins, why must he be so charming? He was dressed in a white tee shirt, a orange striped button up over it, black jeans, and a pair of brown boots.

‘Go ahead Libby. You've deserved a break.’ Jackie nods heading out the room.

‘This is huge.’ Harry smiles holding my hand, ‘aren't you going to give me a tour?’

‘There's my desk.’ I point pulling him over to it, ‘I usually just do all my work on the floor. See, I still have the flowers you sent.’

‘Nice.’ he lets out a small laugh walking with me.

‘Look at the view.’

‘Wow.’ He stares out the window, ‘i see my car.’ I look out the window spotting the black Range Rover along side the road.

‘Harry, you're in the tow zone.’ I couldn't help but laugh.

‘Lunch?’ he laughs quickly walking back across the room. I lock my door and hurry out with him. ‘You look beautiful, by the way.’ Harry says once we're in the lift.

‘Thank you.’ I link my arm through his as we step off. We climb into the Range Rover before it's towed away.

‘Where do you want to go for lunch?’ He looks over at me before staring at the line of cars in front of him.

‘Anywhere's fine.’

We ended up going to a small restaurant not too far from the office. As we wait in line Harry wraps his arms around my waist, resting his head in my shoulder. He had to crouch because of the height difference in the two of us. I feel him leave a kiss on my neck as I glance at the menu above us.

‘How'd the test go?’

‘I feel it went better.’ I respond not bringing my eyes to his.

‘Good.’

Neither one of us say anything for a while as we wait in line. Once we order our food we find a table.

‘Maybe I'll go visit my mum for Christmas.’ I inform Harry. He studies me for a moment before opening his mouth to speak.

‘I think that's a good idea.’ He replies with a supportive smile.

After our lunch Harry walks me all the back to my office.

‘Thanks for lunch.’ I wrap my arms around his waist standing in the doorway.

‘No problem.’ Harry kisses my forehead holding on me.

‘Excuse me.’ Jackie's voice rings through my ears. ‘How would you and your bandmates like to be featured on next month's cover?’ her dark eyes are focused on Harry. He looks down at me considering the offer. Harry raises an eyebrow seeming to ask my opinion. I shrug in response looking back at Jackie.

‘Sure. I'll have my management contact you today.’ Harry agrees.

‘Great. Thank you so much.’ With that Jackie leaves.

‘I'm sorry about that.’ I mutter up to Harry. He stiffs out an amused laugh shaking his head from left to right.

‘Don't be. I'm sure the lads will be on board. Promo for the album will be good.’ Harry replies simply.

‘I better get back to work.’

‘Right. I'll talk to you later.’ he leans down to kiss my lips.

‘Talk to you later.’ I repeat before Harry walks out of the room.

I finish up the rest of the work before I begin to clean around my office a bit.

‘See you tomorrow Tiffany.’ I wave repositioning the strap on shoulder.

‘See you Libby.’ she calls as I step on the lift. The drive home was longer than necessary since the afternoon traffic.

That night I meet up with Perrie and Eleanor for dinner at one of Perrie's favorite restaurants.

‘When is Dani flying in?’ Eleanor looks from Perrie to me.

‘The day after tomorrow if the weather doesn't mess with the flight.’ I inform her.

‘We all should do something when she gets back and if we can pull Niall and Amy apart.’ Perrie teases. I let out a small laugh taking my eyes off the menu.

It was pretty late when I finally got into bed that night. The next morning came too quickly for my liking.

‘Miss. White, decent.’ the professor says as she hands me the test. I look down at the C+ in red ink. As she finishes handing out the papers I take a quick picture of the test and text Harry.

I made a C! Thank you so much for your help! xx - Libby.

A C! Well done baby xx. I'll come by later so we can look at it together, sound good? - Harry.

Sounds amazing! See you tonight. - Libby.

I slip my phone down into the front pouch of my backpack focusing on the new chapter on the board. From the corner of my eye I see Lanna's eyes narrowed at me. We hadn't talked at all since the incident in the hall where I found out she was the leak in my life. After class I gather my belongings and walk out of the room.

‘May I help you?’ I inquire turning around to meet Lanna's eyes.

‘You may be able to help yourself.’ she has a smug expression spread across her face.

‘Excuse me?’

‘Does your boyfriend know that your boss happens to be the mother of your ex boyfriend?’

‘My life is none of your concern or business.’

‘I take it as a no.’

‘Leave me alone.’

‘I want to interview your boyfriend's band for my communications assignment.’

‘No.’

‘Tell him or he'll find out through the media, again.’

‘Are you threatening me?’

‘Take it however you please.’ Lanna smirks folding her arms across her chest. Her eyes were dark with hate. How could I be tricked so easily? Harry always told me I was too friendly to strangers. This is what trusting people gets you.

I clamp my mouth shut and turn on my heels down the hall.

‘I'm not the one to toy with Libby White.’

I throw my shoulders back and continue to walk down the crowded hall.
