Fair is Fair

five

"nova, nova, nova,
don't you have school today?"
"no, mother. it's summer"

summer, who's bright morning brings,
the touch of a saint- always warm
summer, will you stay?

i was in love with winter
with his blanket of white
and deafening silence.

but it was spring that gave
birth to life and melted
away the pain i stole.

then came summer, who
burnt me when he kissed
and left with no goodbye.

so i ran away with autumn
who cracked my bones
with every step he took.

but here came my mother,
gone out of her wits. came with
flowers in her hair, white roses.
