I Had... Hannah
Over the next couple of days, my ankle seemed to be getting… worse. I could barely put any pressure on it. Between Jake and Hannah, I was nearly forced to go to the doctor’s. And I’ve just been telling everyone that Jake took me against my will… because I need frickin surgery! I was so pissed! I even went as far as locking myself in my room the whole next day. There wasn’t anything I was happy about from that situation.
And to make matters worse, Jake couldn’t take me the morning of my operation! The one time I really needed that boy… and he chooses his bike over me. Some boyfriend! But really… I was just pissed that he was able to still ride and I had a whole lot of time off the bike in front of me. I guess I get the next best thing though… I get Hannah.
“I miss Jake,” I pouted as I was waiting in pre-op.
“Aw, Ky misses her Jakey Po,” Hannah teased, earning a glare from me. “Oh come on, it’s early as fuck. Take advantage of my good mood.”
“You’ve had like ten energy drinks!” I couldn’t help but laugh.
“… Only nine!” she was being a smart ass now. Oh lord, save me.
“I wish he could have come though,” I huffed while taking the edge of my blanket in between my fingers.
“Are you going to get all emotional on me now that you have a boyfriend?” she taunted still.
“I’ll do my best not to,” I snickered.
“Good!” she grinned a little too much. It ended up making me laugh. And when I laugh Hannah laughs… or maybe we’re just really loopy since it’s so early in the morning.
“I still can’t believe you never told me about you guys before. I’m your best friend, Ky! You tell me everything!” she started up again.
“I’m sowwy,” I pouted at her now.
“Your drugs are kicking in,” she groaned.
“Yeah, I’d say so,” I couldn’t help but giggle.
“As soon as they wheel you out of here, I’m passing out in the waiting room,” she mumbled.
“And once Wil comes, you’ll wake up and cuddle up to him,” I smirked.
“No one said anything about Wil coming!” she bickered.
“Did you invite him?” I just had to ask.
“… maybe,” she muttered.
“Aw, could he not come?” it was my turn to tease now.
“No,” she pouted, but she wasn’t able to hold back a giggle.
Before I could get another word out, my nurse came in and took me away. After that, it was just a few more minutes before I was out. The next thing I remember was waking up and seeing Hannah… and Wil! But I was too tired to say anything. All I wanted to do was go back to sleep… So I did! There’s plenty of time to tease my best friend and guy she’s currently crushing on later. But until then, I need to sleep these drugs off.
Finally coming to, I was… in my room. I didn’t even remember leaving the hospital… or making my way through the house to get up here. What the hell did they give me this time? As my eyes focused, I felt something pressed against my forehead. While it slowly pulled away, Jake’s slightly scruffy features came into my sights. And of course my first reaction was to smile.
“Morning, sunshine,” he beamed.
I just made a grunt, staying right where I was. I still felt so groggy! Jake, make it stop!
“You’ve been asleep all afternoon. I was starting to worry,” he went on to explain.
“Where’s Hannah?” I questioned.
“She ran to the shop for something,” he replied through a shrug.
“… And Wilbur?”
“He went with her,” his plump lips curled up into a smile as he answered, letting me know he had the same thoughts as I did. And those two said they knew Jake and I would end up together… It’s only a matter of time before they are too! “Do you need anything?” he added.
“My Jakey,” I pouted.
“Aw, did you miss me?” he cooed so cutely before crawling under the covers with me, gently pulling me into his arms.
“I did,” I whined and nuzzled up to him.
“I wanted to be there.”
“It’s ok. I had… Hannah.”
“Which probably wasn’t the best of situations, but…” he trailed off through a snicker.
I just rolled my eyes. I didn’t want him to talk. I just wanted him to sit there and look cute… and hold me! He missed my surgery. It’s the least he could do. But he did tell me that he brought a stack of my favorite movies for me to watch. That was sweet. But even as we watched one, I couldn’t help but think what muck Wil and Hannah were causing… Those two just scream trouble whenever they’re around one another…
