Fear

Blind

"Bane" Londyn called throughout the complex.

Frantic cold air whip her round cheeks as she trailed along the path. Her gown flowed through the wind as so did her black hair.
Londyn felt odd.
This... This was not right.

"Bane" Londyn whispered into the darkness. "I'm scared"

"Nonsense"

Londyn completely halted in her steps. Her lips spread into a relaxed smile and twirled around.
Londyn bare feet barely touched the stone as she leapt into Bane arms.

"My butterfly"

Bane's voice held no mechanic hum to it.
Londyn froze against his soft tender grasp.

"Bane?"

Londyn pulled away blinking.
The darkness swallowed him whole. Londyn could only see a glint of smile on bare lips.

"Your mask" Londyn stated dumbfounded "Its off"

Lips spread into a devastating smile. For it was such a beautiful sight. Londyn heart scattered in her chest.
So, she did what a calm and rational girl would ever do.

Londyn leapt up and crashed her lips to his.
Londyn felt Bane's hand wander down her arms. His hand sending shivers down her spine as Bane twined there fingers together.
Londyn refused to pull away her lips from his. She waited.
Londyn will always wait for Bane.

"Bane" Londyn murmured against his lips. "I am completely in love you"

"I love you" Londyn repeated breathless.

A harsh laugh filled the dark path. Londyn frowned and squeezed Bane's hand.

"That wasn't nice" Londyn said sincerly.

But a small peck was felt against her lips. She pulled away frazzled. Londyn licked her lips.

Again Bane laughed hysterically.
Londyn frowned for it was not a lovely laugh. It seemed to hold madness.

"Oh my dear"

Londyn inched backwards horrified. This couldn't be Bane. Her Bane.
Absolutely not.

Londyn was correct. It was not the mercenary. It was not "her" Bane.

It was a being much much more chaotic than Bane.

A brown sack appeared in front of Londyn.
She scrambled away completely terrified.
Strong and steady arms wrapped around her. Londyn arm instantly collided into his chest. She spun around kicking the mans shins.

The scarecrow express a hysterical laugh.

Londyn lifted her leg above her head and spun her entire body meeting his head.
But the scarecrow did not bulge.

"Let's diagnosis you"

Londyn eyes watered as a unknown substance met her lids.
Then she crumbled to the ground seeing the most fearful and horrifying event.
Londyn now was clouded in her own nightmare. Her worst nightmare.

The idea that kept her awake at night.

Bane dying.

Londyn screamed was echoed through out the path. She screamed bloody murder. As she clutched and scratched her eyelids. Begging for it to stop.

Suddenly Londyn held no image.
For she was blind now. She scratched her eyes out of her sockets.

"Londyn wake up"

"Holy shit"

Londyn orbs were wide awake. Her body was lifted in Bane's arms. Londyn whole body seemed to relax instantly.

"Horrible nightmare" She sighed leaning her head into Bane.

"I am aware. You were shaking" Bane told her with curious eyes.

"I dreamt of Crane" She whispered.

Londyn watched slightly amused as Bane abnormal colorful eyes harden at her words.

"Then he did his infamous move" Londyn said dryly.

"Impossible" Bane stated.

"It was a dream" She offered.

"I am aware"

"Oh Bane" Londyn laughed. "You should try it sometimes"

Bane eyes lowered amused. "Your nightmare is over"

"I don't think I can find sleep after that"

"Try"

Londyn lips spread into a smile. "Okay"

Bane nodded and felt the girl pull away and roll her body over.
Bane lips twitched as well as his arm.
But suddenly the girl pulled Bane arm over to grasp her waist.
Bane brow furrowed. Londyn leant her whole body into Bane.

"I sleep better" Londyn informed him shyly. "Don't let go"

"I will not" Bane promised.

Londyn heart collapsed in her chest. She couldn't help but smile. It's wasn't just her lips. Her heart was forming its own smile.

"I wonder how this all happened" Londyn murmured staring at the open curtain taking in the dark sky of Gothem City.

"It was set in motion before you ever had a thought of this city" Bane said.

"But why?" She whispered.

"I am fulfilling my destiny"

"Is it really yours?" She challenged.

Londyn froze at the mask humming down her neck. Bane inched closer and closer.

"I do not question it" Bane contraption spoke softly. "As you should not question me" his voice harden.

Londyn squirmed against him. She decided to bite her tongue.

"I'm to tired to fight"

"Excellent" Bane replied.

"You should sleep though"

A low rasp of what seemed like laughter lingered in Londyn ears. Londyn rolled her eyes.

"May I ask a question?" Bane said grasping the girls attention.

"Of course" Londyn said quickly causing the man to smile.

"Do you believe in a after life?"

"As in heaven?" Londyn wondered.

"Certainly"

"I was raised Catholic" Londyn said "So, yes"

"Well" Bane spoke in the darkness "I look forward to meeting you again"

Bane heard a musical laugh through the complex. The pen he was holding through his fingers dropped onto the desk.
Bane shifted his gaze to the open window. The moon high in the midnight sky. Slowly his eyes met the abandoned bed. The girl still held no interest in sleeping.
She was worst than a toddler.
Again, her laughter rang through the complex. Bane stood from the desk. His interest peaking.

Londyn laughed covering her mouth as she watched Spencer try to catch the grapes she was throwing toward him.
She tossed one high in the air and cheered when Spencer caught the grape between his lips.

"Hey" Spencer said "Did you know Crane is held up in the court house?" Spencer said picking up the fallen grapes.

Relief flooded through Londyn. "So I don't have to walk on eggshells anymore?"

"Oh" Spencer scoffed "You know we wouldn't let anything happen to you"

"Especially Bane" Spencer muttered throwing away the grapes in the trash bin.

"The man is unstable" Londyn stated.

"Oh he's stabled compare to the clow-"

Spencer abruptly halted in his words at the sight of Bane leaning against the wall.
Londyn turned her head and met his abnormal eyes with a smile.
Bane eyes flashed to Spencer then to the girl. Spencer fidgeted in his steps.
Londyn skipped to Bane side peering up at him.

"Hi" She whispered into the mans chest.

Spencer ushered himself out of the room nodding toward the pair.
Londyn waved then shifted herself to stand in front of Bane.

"It is late" Bane stated.

Londyn folded her hands lowering her head grinning. "That it is" she beamed.

"Sleep" Bane ordered.

"But I'm not tired" Londyn protested.

Bane glanced at the girl sharply. "Worst than a child"

"I resent that" Londyn glared. "I also resent the fact you didn't tell me Doctor Psycho left the building"

Bane scoffed inwardly. His lips twitching to keep from smiling. "I did not realize I had to inform you" Bane said calmly.

"I was really worried" Londyn squirmed "That man is so unstable" She repeated her words.

Bane gazed at the girl. She was afraid of a man covering his head in a sack but held no fear in himself.
There was clinically something wrong with that.

"Nonetheless Crane is gone" Bane sighed.

Londyn nodded her body relaxing as she comprehended Bane words.

"Let's take a walk" Londyn burst.

Bane peered down at the girl his eyes narrowing into slits. "I beg your pardon?" He asked sincerely.

"Come take a walk with me" Londyn cheered smiling.

Bane frowned deeply behind his mask. The girl was anything but hesitant.

"You desire to walk?" Bane asked amused.

"Yes" Londyn called pulling the thick cozy sweater over her head. "I want to see the stars"

Bane chest rose "A walk can be done"

Bane marveled as her lips spread into a smile. Londyn wrapped the red knitted scarf around her neck.
Bane met the girl at the double doors.

"This is nice" Londyn smiled.

"Explain" Bane brow furrowed.

"It's just us" Londyn shrugged "It's nice"

Bane winced but expressed a smile with his crinkled lids.

Londyn swung the door open alarming Spencer. Bane marveled once more as the girls laugh echoed the hall.

"Sorry Spence" Londyn sang.

Spencer nodded then stepped in tow with the pair.

"There is no need for your company" Bane swiftly said.

Spencer lowered his head and planted himself to keep guard at the door.

Londyn glanced back and waved to the younger boy. Spencer waved back slowly his eyes glued on Bane's back.
The two stepped inside the elevator. Bane clasped his massive hands together as the girl smiled.
Bane allowed the girl to step out of the elevator first. He watched as the girl skipped out of the mechanic box, her hair swaying.
Bane slowly walked out of the elevator completely and utterly in awe of the girl.

Londyn Jonas was simply beautiful.

"It's snowing" Londyn marveled peering through the glass doors.

"Surely you will return to the complex" Bane said.

Bane averted his gaze to see the eye roll from the girl.

"Bane" she laughed "Its just snow"

The girl reached her delicate fingers out and grasped Bane's forceful hands. Londyn tugged on his fingers. Pulling him through the glass doors urgently.
Bane followed.

"It's a ghost town"

It was a understatement. Gothem City was more than a ghost town. For there was no sign of no being ever living there. The city was empty.
Bare.
Londyn still held onto Bane's hand as she quickly walked into the street.

"The citizens are fearful to step outside the comfort of there homes"

"I wouldn't blame them" Londyn frowned.

"Tell me" Bane said "What would you have done if you did not company me?"

Londyn pursed her lips "Honest truth?" She asked "I would probably hide somewhere in a corner preferably in a fetal position"

Bane eyes harden at the girls words.
She made light of the situation.

"I guess I'm just lucky that I slipped into your grasp"

"As awful as it seems" Londyn admitted "It isn't that awful. I suppose"

Bane smirked behind his contraption. "I suppose not" he said sharply.

The girl beamed up at him.

"Bane?"

"Yes Londyn?"

"I sometimes think your completely mad" Londyn pressed her lips together. "Other times I see that good in you"

"Oh my butterfly" Bane eyelids crinkled "You are just blinded"

"Blinded? From what?" Londyn brow creased worried.

"You are blinded by the good in people" He pondered his words.

Then met the girl gaze.

"Love can blind some beings"

Londyn lips spread into a smile. Her hand never leaving his, she turned her body peering up at him.
Bane eyes averted to the snow flakes drizzling down to her cheeks.
Londyn opened her mouth. Her lips already raising into a smile.

"Then I want to be blind"

He watched them from afar. His dark gloomy orbs never leaving the girls marvelous sight.

He was attracted to the girl instantly.

For she was the most precious, beautiful girl he ever laid eyes on.

The only problem was the inhuman creature beside her.

The man lurked in the shadows watching the snow flakes swirl around the angel.

A slow smile spread across his face causing the paint to chip off from his face and to only land on his colorful suit.

A cruel laugh escaped his thin lips pondering at the havoc to come to Gothem. Oh Bane would just have to step aside.

The clown was back.
Again.
