Wildfire

prologue

“Marilyn started it.”

This statement would come to be one that I used frequently throughout my high school career, not unlike a catchphrase. Whether it be truth, a lie, an excuse or an explanation, it was not altogether unusual for me to say it. They told me it was childish: parents, teachers, the cops, the school counsellor. They told me to forget about Marilyn, to focus on my studies, my goals, my ambitions. But she wouldn’t let it go, and neither would I.

So the first time I said those words, sitting in the principal’s office drenched from head to toe, I promised myself that Marilyn’s deed would not go unpunished; I would get my revenge. This was war. And it was one that I would win.

I've decided to re-write this to make it more believable and concrete. Plus I've been doing some more work on the storyline and characters so it's a bit more realistic. I hope you enjoy it!

Love.
