Is Anything Meant to Be?

Lexi stopped playing and went back into the room just as she heard Bella saying how Jasper and her would be a cute couple and if not, Jake or Embry would be there. Lexi:” So, what’re we talking about?” They all said nothing, and she looked at them curiously. Lexi:” Do any of you know where Carlisle is?” Edward:” Yes, he’s in his study.” Lexi:” Do you think you could show me the way if you don’t mind?” Edward nodded saying he didn’t mind and they both got up and began heading up the stairs. Lexi tried not to think of it, or what she wanted to ask, but she couldn’t help it. “I kind of want to know my options, you know if Jasper wants me then yay, awesome. Maybe in the end I could get him to turn me into a vampire , but I’d like to know a few things first….that way I can see in case Jasper doesn’t mind, maybe I could go with Jake or his friend Embry they’re both hot especially Jake. I have a feeling Bella thinks I could be good with them both, as well as Jasper. I hope that Jasper likes me and wants me since I’m his blood singer,” Lexi. She had a feeling that Edward was listening because when she thought of Jasper possibly or eventually turning her down the road, he stopped momentarily but recovered and continued walking. Edward:” Here’s his study.” Since he said that through gritted teeth, she knew he heard what she was thinking. He walked away, and she knocked on the door, Carlisle:” Come in.” When she went in he seemed surprised, Carlisle:” Ah Lexi, how may I help you?” Lexi:” I was wondering if I could talk to you about um, vampires?” Carlisle:” Yes of course you can, and you know that being frightened is a natural and normal thing.” Lexi:” Carlisle I’m not frightened just nervous actually” He looked at her curiously and nodded, Carlisle:” Ok, so what’s on your mind?” Lexi:” I was just curious, when I was bit, what I felt…that’s how it is when you’re turning right?” Carlisle:” Yes, that burning sensation that you felt, that’s how it is but far worse. I’ve only turned those in my family since it was an alternative life, they were on the cusp of dying. Edward from the Spanish Flu, Esme jumped off a cliff, Rosalie was in the streets after being beaten and raped. I didn’t change Alice and Jasper however, she found him and they both found us, Rosalie found Emmett after he was attacked by a bear, she found him and brought him to me to change. Why the sudden interest in how it’s like becoming a vampire.” Lexi:” I can’t lie, especially since I believe Edward heard and knowing him he’ll tell you. Once I found out Jasper’s outcome on us, in the future I will bring up that I want him to turn me. I love him, I told him that it was love at first sight with me when I saw him. Carlisle, I know you live forever but I can see your family in my life and I can see Jasper there as well. He’s like my soul mate.” Carlisle smiled, got up and gave her a hug. Carlisle:” Both you and Bella are strong, I think you’d both be good additions to my family.” Lexi looked at him curiously, Lexi:” Wait, Bella wants to become a vampire too?” Carlisle nodded, and before Lexi turned to leave, she thanked him. Carlisle:” You’re welcome. Any questions feel free to ask! Oh by the way, that was lovely whatever it was you played on the piano.” Lexi blushed and began fidgeting with her hands, Lexi:” Oh ah thanks. Didn’t think anyone was listening at first. I know they did when I finally got into it though.” He nodded and Lexi left to find Bella, she changed her mind and went off by herself in the woods, to think.

“What the hell, Bella and I are close practically like sisters. I wonder why she didn’t tell me, I know she’s beyond in love with Edward and all, but I tell her everything granted I didn’t tell her about the bite at first, but I can’t believe she didn’t tell me she wants to become a vampire as well. I just don’t know…”
She went out walking, and found the ravine, she didn’t bother looking for a way to cross it, she sat by the edge looking at mother nature all around her. Lexi only wished she had grabbed her sketch pad to sketch how beautiful it is around her. She got up and just walked again until she came to a beautiful meadow. When the breeze brushed against her face, she knew Edward and Bella had either been there or gone there often. Lexi simply walked through it and met someone she didn’t know. Justin:” Ah, fresh meat!” “Edward, Jasper….Jake someone help!” Lexi. Lexi:” I’m looking for my friend, have you seen him?” Justin:” Is he gonna be my lunch too? If not then I can settle for a pretty young thing like you.” “Hmm, Edward can’t be close or something’s wrong. I don’t know, wonder if Jake is or if he can hear me…JAKE HELP ME, I NEED HELP!” Lexi. Justin:” Are you scared pretty girl?” Lexi:” No I’m not.” Just ran at her and was at her side in the blink of an eye, he touched her cheek and breathed in her scent. He looked in her eyes, searching for fear, but he found none. He then grabbed her and decided to jump onto the other side of the ravine the wolves side. Lexi searched his eyes in return, she saw him look up past her to both her left and right, then he let her throat go and began backing away looking scared. Lexi did nothing, most in her position would’ve just ran away after he let them go, or looked behind them to see what scared the big bag vampire away, but not Lexi. She looked straight ahead for the time being trying to figure it out when she saw three very large wolves walking pass her at first, then ran. One was all black, one was gray, and then she saw it…that rusty colored wolf in person. Lexi was so amazed that she was seeing the rusty colored wolf up close, she dropped to her knees shocked. What really hit her was the fact that like in her nightmares turned dreams, the wolf is saving her. The wolf stood next to her close, and tilted his head at her. Lexi looked in his eyes, she saw him, and all she could say ways his name “Jake”, and couldn’t help but smile. Lexi:” Wow, beautiful…just beautiful.” Jake bowed his head and then ran off after the other two. Lexi didn’t bother moving, getting up or anything but she simply stayed on her knees. She was smiling and just shook her head, Lexi:” That’s why after the first wolf drawing I drew, when Bella saw it she mumbled Jake’s name.” After about twenty minutes, Jake walked out from the other side of the meadow with a smirk. He walked over to her and got down on his knees where they both stared into each other’s eyes. He was searching hers for fear as well as if she meant what she said calling him beautiful, she searched his eyes to verify with herself that Jake and the wolf in fact are one. Jake:” Didn’t anyone ever tell you walking alone in the woods is always a bad idea?” Lexi:” Oh ya, I’ve heard that at least twice or more if I remember correctly.” Jake:” And you’re still not listening, walking alone?” Lexi:” Well right now I’m not alone and I’ve some friends who’ll protect me…especially one in particular maybe three actually.” Jake walked beside her for a moment or so, Jake:” Something’s bothering you.” Lexi:” How’d you know that?” He told her he just senses it and she just began walking again, understanding since she too can sense how people feel and just other things too. Jake followed her anyways, just to wait if she says anything even if he knew she wouldn’t. He was surprised when she finally spoke, Lexi:” Just a lot on my mind Jake. I fell in love with Edward’s brother Jasper the moment I saw him, that and I am his blood singer as well. Even though he’s starting to like me more, I cam not absolutely sure he will be able to control himself completely. Yes I can see my life and he’s in it, but part of me still thinks you’re really cute and that I’d be better off with you. I’m being drawn to you for some reason and I can’t figure out why, but aside from you possibly liking me I believe that your friend Emrby might be falling in love with me. From what Alice said, Jasper’s answer will make me happy but now that I have decided there’s a slim chance of having Jasper turn me….Not anytime soon of course, and I find out now that Bella wants to be changed too. I just can’t help but feel betrayed somehow because since we’ve become close and I finally revealed what happened to me and how I’ve some of these abilities, I’ve told her everything just about and yet she keeps this from me. I don’t know anymore Jake, I just don’t know.” Jake:” True, you may be the last one to know her intentions or what she has planned, but unlike her, you’re not rushing it even if you are in love with Jasper. You want to see your options or weigh them that is. Wait, you think you’d be better off with me?” Lexi nodded, turning away so he wouldn’t see her blush but he did which made him smile. Jake:” So you’re really not going to ask?” Lexi:” Why ask, I know it’s you. Well I know now that is, but not when I saw you in wolf form in my nightmares/dreams, or when I drew the pictures of you in wolf form.” Jake:” Ok, since you know about them leeches, Sam our pack leader wants to make sure you’re not a threat to the pack.” He grabbed her hand and lead her to the beach where the pack was all in a circle. Lexi saw Sam and all she managed to say at first was “WHOA”. Jake looked at her curiously, Lexi:” I had a nightmare that’s similar to this only I was in the woods and that one came out of nowhere, picked me up and ran until we got here. Then Sam threatened/interrogated me.” Jake:” He won’t interrogate you, he just want’s to make sure you’re no threat and get a feel for you.” Lexi nodded and Jake brought her to the group to introduce them all. She sat in front of Sam, waiting. Lexi:” Um hi, I’m Lexi Weber, I go to Forks High school with my cousin Angela and best friend Bella Swan. Um, I was bit by a vampire when I was much younger before I moved here, and because I was bit by my neighbor, I’ve abilities. I am able to read minds, I can block and unblock my own mind, I can pick up on scents sometimes as well. Well I can only block my mind a little or to a point, haven’t really practiced much. I can have people see what I’ve seen or what I want them to see. Whenever the Cullens whisper, I can pick it up and there might be something with my dreams/nightmares but I just haven’t figured it out just yet. I can sense what people feel sometimes too. There might be more but those are the only ones I know of that have surfaced. If you don’t believe I was bitten I can show you the scar, as well as how it happened since I sense you think the Cullens had something to do with it. To be honest the only involvement any Cullen had was Carlisle who sucked the venom out of me so I wouldn’t become one of them at the age I was, he felt I was too young and it wasn’t fair.” Sam just stood there glaring at me, he looked up at Paul “Check for the scar,” Sam. Paul got up and looked, Lexi rolled her eyes took her shirt off, not caring if she was in her bra and he saw the scar on her shoulder. “It’s on her right shoulder blade Sam,” Paul. “Bring her over to me for a moment please,” Sam. She carefully got up with Paul’s help and went over to Sam. He had Lexi turn so he could see the scar, “Jake, she’s still human right?” Sam. “Yes of course she is. She was bit at a younger age and unlike Bella, she knows she has options and they’re there in the back of her mind. Can’t you hear her heartbeat? Besides, she’s not focusing on becoming anything right now anyways,” Jake. “Thanks Jake, sure kill me now…” Lexi. “Hmm, what harm could I possibly do. Yes I’m like Bella, I hang out with both Vampires and Werewolves, but I’m a total klutz. I can draw which is my strength and something I’m really good at. Other then the abilities that I mentioned, what could I honestly do?” Lexi. Sam didn’t want to take any changes, Sam:” You’ll do a few tasks for me so I know for sure that…” Jake(growled):” NO, she’s not. If you’re too blind to know for sure that she’s human because she has been bit by one of them, and also due to Bella’s track record, then that’s not my fault. Why don’t you let her show you then?” Jake waited, then he got up, told Lexi to put her shirt back on and he walked with her to the woods where they were before. Jake:” So there’s one thing you should, well must know about wolves. We can imprint, like it’s stronger then soul mates. We can imprint but we become whatever it is that the person needs like Quil is a nanny/babysitter for Clair. You need something in your life Lexi, but I sense that you don’t know what it is do you?” Lexi shook her head no, and looked away. Jake had sensed that she did, but she didn’t want to say just yet. He had her turn back to face him and he simply pulled her into a hug.
She went back to the Cullens and the moment she did Jasper ran out of the house stopping in front of her. Lexi:” Oh uh hey Jasper!” He smiled that half crooked smile she loves so much and she walked by him blushing. He stuck his hand out grabbing hers and stopped her, she turned to look at him and smiled. Lexi:” Jasper?” He looked at her and pulled her into a hug, she knew he could smell Jake on her since she smelled him on her, she was wondering what smelled like dog as she was walking back to the Cullens house. Jake told her in her mind that the wolves smell like that to vampires, and she understood. Jasper pulled away looking at her, Jasper:” Lexi…I love you!” Lexi was shocked, Lexi:” What, really?” Jasper:” Yes, if you can see me and my family in your life, so can I. I’ve loved you the first time I saw you, I just wanted to try and control myself first.” Lexi was still shocked, yes she was happy of course, Jasper finally said that he loves her, but she was really confused. Before Jasper could ask what was wrong or on her mind, Alice ran out and grabbed Lexi pulling her away to walk and talk. Alice:” Are you having second thoughts about Jazz?” Lexi:” I’d ask how you know that, but then I again I remember it is you I’m talking to.” Alice:” So, are you?” Lexi:” Well not exactly. My heart really wants Jasper, but then again I’m being drawn to Jake. Alice I don’t know what to do or what I’m going to do, yes of course I love Jasper more then anything, but my mind keeps telling me for some reason now that I don’t think he’ll be able to control himself for long. Yes he’s been doing good for now, but I had a nightmare that when we were with Emmett, I was playing around and cut myself and he freaked at all the blood. I know my dreams are nothing or nightmares I should say, but I think there might be something to them. “ Alice told her that she can’t really help, Alice:” I can’t make the decision for you, but I will tell you this. I can’t see you anymore, I don’t know if it’s because you’re going to be hanging out with the wolves all the time, or if something is wrong, but I can’t see you anymore.” Alice told her to be careful as well, and when she mentioned that she can’t see Lexi, Lexi was both happy as well as sad. Lexi didn’t know what to do, she acted on her feelings and she was upset and a little mad, so she grabbed something sharp near her, and sliced her hand for some reason. As Lexi was watching the blood drip from her hand and then try to focus on Jasper, to see if he was freaking out, she saw her hand start healing itself. Bella was in sight and also saw the whole thing, Bella:“ Whoa, what the Hell?” Lexi got startled and ran into the house and to the bathroom to clean up the rest washing the rest of the blood away. When she was done she went to find Bella, she grabbed her and brought her into the bathroom to talk to her. Lexi:” Please don’t tell anyone what you just saw. Frankly, I don’t know how that just happened and or why that just happened but I’d like to talk to Carlisle first . Please?” Bella nodded and agreed, while Lexi went to Carlisle’s study and knocked. Carlisle:” Come in.” Lexi opened the door and closed it behind her, he knew by the way she’s acting as well as the look on her face, she was nervous or scared. Carlisle:” What is it Lexi?” Lexi:” Ok you and your family told me that vampires obviously don’t bleed, but that if a limb is ripped off it can reattach itself unless it’s burned. So I’m not sure if this can be explained the bite.” Carlisle:” Ok yes, but what might not be explained by the bite?” Lexi:” Well after talking to Alice I was upset and a little mad so I acted on those feels, I did something stupid. I cut my hand and rather deep but as I was watching the blood and also testing to see if Jasper would freak out like I know he will soon, the cut began to fix itself. It’s all healed, and I’m a little freaked out about it at the moment, which is why I’m here.” Carlisle:” Oh yes, that can’t be explained by the bite. Do you mind if I take a look as well as take some blood?” Lexi:” I’d be glad if you did, I don’t know what do think at the moment.” Carlisle grabbed his things and drew the blood first, then he looked at her hand, and asked if he could see for himself.

“I don’t know why I did that, cut myself but something inside of me told me to do so. The same thing that’s telling me that Jasper won’t be able to stay like Edward and control himself all the time and for long, he’s going to fail. When I saw that my hand healed itself, I admit I freaked out. Carlisle gave himself away, not by thoughts but I felt that he knows what it is and just wanted to make sure. He seemed very interested, yet he seemed sad and I can’t figure it out."
Lexi told Carlisle it was ok that he see for himself if it meant that he could help figure out what it was. So Carlisle took a small knife and cut her arm, and he too saw her arm start to heal before his eyes. A little while later he got the blood results back, he checked them and looked at Lexi…
