Six Feet Under the Stars

“Hey Alex.” It was Jack, the worst time in the world for him to show up. The crowd finally got the hint we weren’t playing anymore and it slowly started to disappear.
“Hey Jack, you know Tay.” I smiled, hopefully giving him a little smile saying you interrupted something.
“Yeah, she’s in my study hall. What were you guys doing?” Jack said, shooting me a mischievous smile.
“Just jamming, waiting for you to get here. Do you want to join? I mean unless you have to go somewhere?” I asked Tay, trying to look her in the eyes without looking to intimidating.
“Nope, unless you guys just want to jam alone…” She trailed off slowly.
“Nah, you can join in or just sit and listen if you want.” Jack said, “so Alex, what do you want to start with?”
“Let’s do Jasey Rae.” I smiled. I had just finished this song and Jack and I had already perfected it. I really wanted to show Tay this song. I started to strum the basic chords as Jack came in doing the melody.

After Jack and I finished, I opened my eyes to see Tay’s reaction. She was wide eyed and had a grin on her face that went from ear to ear.
“Wow you guys, that was awesome! Haha, you guys are amazing. Alex your voice is so, prefect.” Tay blushed, and looked away. I could feel my cheeks heating up and Jack nudged me with his shoulder.
“Looks like someone’s got a crush on you.” Jack whispered in my ear. I pushed him off the bench, it was easy considering how skinny he was. “Hey! Easy when I’ve got my guitar with me.”
