Saving Alice

Wake Up Call

I woke up to a knock on my door. I reached my hand instinctively under the mattress but found nothing. I shot up, my heart racing. The room was unfamiliar. Where was I? Where..
Then it all came back. The night before.. the party.. Alice.
I slammed back into my pillows.
Shit.
The knock came again, “Come in.” I called.
The heavy wooden door swung open, and Alice appeared. Her blond hair was pulled up high in a bun, and she wore an elegant evening dress that flowed behind her.
“Good dear, you’re awake.” She walked over the other side of the room. “I was beginning to get worried.”
My eyes searched around the room for any sign of the time. There was nothing. Not a clock in sight. Alice had disappeared inside a door again, but returned within a few moments. She threw pile of clothing on the bed at me, and disappeared again. I picked up the black material and it slipped through my fingers. The dress was gorgeous. Silk. Alice appeared again with a suitcase in one hand and a pile of clothing in the other.
“Put that on, doll.” She instructed me. “We are leaving in an hour.”
