Emma had just been living life, when one morning she awakes to the ground beneath her shaking and paratroopers falling from the sky.
Her parents were captured by the North Korean army. Her father told her to run and she did, running into her neighbor Robert and he added her to the mix of people that were fleeing.
Once they had ran, the army was on their heels everywhere they went. When she discovers she's go feelings for Robert, she ends up putting her life on the line to help him in anyway she can.
As the world falls apart around them she starts a love life with him. She figures that if she was to die, at least she would die with someone to love.
