When Ava was just 16 and a half she fell in love with a boy. His name was Zarin Alexander Black. He was 18 at the time and they made the perfect couple. He was flirty and bad. She was happy and sweet.

Zarin enrolled into the army 6 months after they had been dating, leaving her behind. They wrote everyday until one day he just couldn't write anymore. She didn't find out why until a year later, after her heart was shattered into million pieces, that his best friend was killed and it tore him apart.
