You Are Not

Chapter 11

Tay paced outside of John's front door full of nerves, her tummy rumbled where she couldn't eat her dinner until she'd spoken to him. Tay's heart raced as she knocked quietly hoping maybe he was out, she held her head down looking at her shoes as the door opened slightly.

"Tay!" John said, sounding surprised.

"This a bad time?" Tay asked, looking up at him under her fringe.

"Uh- no it's fine, Simon won't be long."

"Who?"

Tay walked past John and the small Spanish man was sat on John's sofa, Tay's eyes widened as she looked at the tanned circular man. The sight of him made her uneasy, just a few hours ago he was yelling in a foreign language to a plump blonde lady hanging out of a window wearing nothing on her top half but a red bra.

"Why is he here?" Tay whispered.

"He saw my ad looking for a roommate, y'know like house share?" John nodded.

"He's weird though, I saw him today shouting at a lady."

John laughed, "That would have been his girlfriend Tay, she kicked him out so I'm letting him stay the night and if things go well he can have a key and help with the bills. He's quite a funny guy actually, he seems harmless..."

"Why was he kicked out then?" Tay raised an eyebrow, "He might be violent!"

"I highly doubt that, because he was asleep in bed with another woman and she thought they'd... y'know."

"Is he just going to sit there?"

John couldn't help but laugh at Tay being uneasy about the situation. He took Tay into his bedroom and the perched on the end of his bed, John held Tay's hand which made the whole thing a lot harder for Tay. She didn't even know what she had gone there to say. All she knew was that her heart was confused and maybe that it'd be easier if she told John that Fraser kissed her.

"I'm sorry about being mad at you, it was just a lot to take in and I realise now that I overreacted like big time but we'll talk to him and sort things out... I promise." John placed his head softly on Tay's shoulder.

Tay sighed holding back the tears, she loved John but not in the way he seemed to love her, she knew she'd be crawl to hold onto something she didn't think was going to work but she wasn't willing to hurt him. Tay's friends had always been boys and she'd always seemed to find ways of getting through to them but it had never been the same with John like he always expected more from her. Tay's heart raced and she closed her eyes focusing on not crying, she put her arms around John and they just sat there for a while. Tay had no words.

Gustav was slouched on the sofa with a beer in one hand, remote in the other and his feet where on the coffee table. Tay had just gone to see John, her plate on the kitchen counter Gus noticed was untouched, he knew she was nervous but she hadn't wanted to talk about it. Gustav never really got into girl talks if he could help it, it would always be about feelings which is something he thought you kept to yourself.

He flicked through the channels to pass the time, Tay had agreed they would go out to the pub garden and they'd sit outside together. Gustav never really stayed inside especially on his own, he felt restless leaving the channel on ITV where a young girl sat at the piano in a onsie singing and the words Britans Got Talent on the background.

Gustav's phone buzzed next to him and he looked at the screen.

Unknown Caller

Gustav barely answered his phone when he knew who was calling, he put his phone back down and let it ring out. A few seconds later a message popped up.

It's Andy, It's my last night in the UK, can we talk?

The little shit took my number, thought Gustav. He clicked reply not really knowing what to say, what would they even talk about? He has one night here what does he expect seconds? Gustav shook his head and dropped the phone back down on the sofa and as if Andy knew he messaged him a second time.

Remember where we dropped you off? Meet me there in 10.

Fantastic, thought Gustav, this is just what I need to put a cherry on top of the whole Andy experience. Although a thought did cross his mind, he needed to show Emma who he was hanging around with, Andy obviously wasn't too angry with Gus otherwise he wouldn't be there. It would give Emma the slap in the face she really needed and bring a lot of comfort to Gus. He almost laughed aloud.

He went into his bedroom got changed, turned the TV off, grabbed his keys and phone then shut the door behind him. Where Andy had dropped him off before was about a half hour walk so he ran for the bus just making it in time and took a seat, sending Andy a quick message.

Be there soon, on the bus.

Andy was so relieved when he read his text from Gus that he smiled to his phone, he didn't know why but he had a feeling Gustav would show. Andy felt the nervous feeling in his tummy but he was also really excited, he'd never felt like this about anyone in a long time and he just wanted to be near him again, his strong features, cocky dry sense of humor and most of all his smile that showed his slightly overlapped teeth.

Andy walked down the street stopping to check his appearance in a car window and ran his hands through his hair and smoothing under his eyes where he'd tried to hide the circles. Andy had played his last UK show for this tour last night and they'd had a day left free, everyone got asked what they wanted to do and this was Andy's last chance. Everyone spent the day doing whatever they wanted and then left early for London.

The bus stopped a few steps in front on Andy and Gustav stepped off looking around. His hair was a lot shorter than Andy had seen it last and darker too, he wore a black shirt, skinny jeans and mucky Converse. Andy smiled as their eyes met, Gustav walked towards him and took a deep breath, he looked so much better than Andy could have even thought.

"Evening," Nodded Gus. "So what brings you back to London?"

Andy shrugged, "Sights."

"Mm...Yeah they're not bad I guess." Smirked Gustav.

Gustav nodded forward, "Come on."

"Where are we going?" Andy asked following, standing close enough to Gus that they where almost touching.

"Pub." Gustav looked at him smiling which made Andy really want to kiss him.

"You walked out without saying goodbye," Andy said nervously.

"I don't do goodbyes unless I don't want to see that person again." He smiled.

His smile was so charming that you couldn't help but smile back, Andy felt happy that Gustav had wanted to see him too.

"But you didn't try to see me again, you didn't ask my phone address or anything."

"You already had my number."

Which was true but Andy doubted that Gustav knew that, he wanted to ask Gustav why he'd kissed him, if he liked him in that why, whether he'd want to be with him like that again or whether he was back with his girlfriend. He just wanted to know if it was okay to hold Gustav's hand and let him lead him through the crowds of London and take care of him.

"You missed me then." Gustav smirked, walking a little faster than Andy he looked back at him.

"What about you? Did you miss me?" Andy seemed so unsure of what to say around Gustav. "Do you want to kiss me again?"

Gustav stopped, not knowing why, did he stop because of what Andy said or because the answer was yes. There was only one way to find out, Gustav placed both hands on the back of Andy's head and pulled him as close as he could without having Andy stood on Gustav's feet and he connected their lips. It turned out he did want to and it felt right. It felt good.

Gustav turned Andy pushing him up against a fence and pressed his body hard against Andy's kissing him passionately. Gustav pulled back slowly and then kissed him softly on the lips barely touching their lips this time as though he realised they were delicate.

"Is that what you wanted?" Gustav asked this time without the charming smile.

"I thought of you," Andy said calmly even though his heart was at maximum speed.

"What are you thinking now?" Gustav asked, removing his body from Andy's.

"That you look so much better without the blonde." Andy smiled first this time trying not to laugh.

Gustav smiled, taking Andy's hand and continued their way to the pub. Andy wished they weren't going to the pub, it wasn't private or quiet and he'd drank far too much to previous night. But he wasn't going to complain, he was with Gus and that's the only place he wanted to be right now.

Gustav released Andy's hand and took his phone from his pocket and the screen flashed at him.

Tay Calling

"Tay, have you left John's?" Gustav asked, looking at a clueless Andy.

Gustav pulled Andy close to him, not letting go of his shirt once he was standing closer as though Andy was going to be lost by the crowds.

"No, I'm in the bathroom, I want to leave but I've barely said two words to him. I don't know what to do, Gustav help." Tay sobbed.

"Okay, do you want me to come and get you or do you want me to meet you outside the pub at the end of his road?" Gustav asked looking around as though she'd turn up.

"I'll come to you, I might not cry if we're in public, can you leave now?"

"Almost there already baby, two steps ahead of you."

"Okay, thanks."

Gustav hung up and looking at Andy, he smirked. "And then there were three."

"Who's Tay?" Andy asked.

"My best friend and house buddy, she's the bomb." Gustav laughed.

"What happened to your girlfriend?"

"It's over." Gustav snapped, smile disappearing from his face, he sighed.

He let go of Andy's shirt and replaced his grip with Andy's hand once again dragging him towards the pub. Andy knew it was a sore subject with Gustav but he knew Gus wouldn't talk about it if he didn't ask.

Gustav left Andy outside and went in the buy drinks, Andy didn't even know if he'd see Tay since he had no idea what she looked like. At least Gus had given him time to have a cigarette then again time without Gus right now was a waste of time. Gustav wasn't in there long before he re-joined Andy with two beers.

"What time are you leaving?" Gustav asked.

"Early."

Gustav squeezed Andy's shoulder, Andy hated that this would be their last moments together until Andy was back, he couldn't see Gus coming to visit him. To Andy, Gustav looked as though his mind was always elsewhere but Andy wanted to know what he was thinking, he wanted to know if Gus would miss him. Andy liked the Gustav always seemed to have at least one hand on him, he didn't know if that was a protective thing or whether Gus wanted people to know they where together whatever the reason it didn't matter because he was here with him.

They stood outside talking about tours and their friends, Gus told Andy all about Tay and how he used to be in a band when he was at University but they ended up not really seeing eye-to-eye, Gustav had been the bass player. They finished their drinks and sat close with Andy's hand buried under Gustav's.
