Black Winter.

You see through demented eyes

Natasha’s POV; TWO WEEKS LATER

“I don’t trust that girl.” I confine to Clint, “there is something off about her.”

“Are you sure you’re just not jealous that she has Bucky’s full attention?” He asks, a smirk dancing across his lips. I just glare at him and that smirk quickly disappears, “Nat, she’s just a little girl. What damage can she do?”

“She’s also a Black Widow, Ivan can be playing us like a fiddle.”

“If he is, which one do you think she is?” Clint asks, “Red Dawn or Black Winter?”

“Or she could be the informant Red Dawn is suppose to report to.” I shrug, “I don’t know what her role is in this, but she’s definitely a person of interest…”

I walk out of the building I’ve been living in for the last couple weeks; Stark Towers I believe the name is. I haven’t been able to get much intel on SHIELD from here, mainly because Agent Romanoff has been watching me like a hawk. Seeing as she’s a fellow Black Widow, I’ve got to keep my lies in order because one slip up, she’ll be able to find me out and torture any information I have out of me. From what Ivan has told me, she’s brutal and ruthless; much like my mother was.

I glance down at my phone and see the address an unknown, blocked number texted me. Part of me knows who it is, but another part knows he wouldn’t be this stupid to come back around. But without thinking, I hail a taxi and drive off towards the address; despite knowing there is an agent following me; Fury’s orders.

The taxi lets me out at a building across from Central Park. I pay my fare before walking across the street and take a seat on one of the benches. I instantly notice the black SUV that was following me. In the vehicle sits Agent Sitwell; my personal body guard. I just roll my eyes and continue to play with my phone, especially when I feel someone sit down on the bench behind me.

“Мы не можем продолжать делать это.” I tell him in Russian, “Я не могу рисковать быть пойманным. Это может означать смерть.”

“Я возвращаюсь к России утром.” The familiar voice states, “Я просто хотел увидеть тебя в последний раз.”

“You risk all of this just to see me?” I ask, in English this time. “You risked everything.”

“I just had to make sure you’re safe.” He explains, “I care about you Asyia.”

“Enough to raise suspion?” I question him, “everything we’re working for rides on whether or not SHIELD trusts me. I’ve got agents following me, this is dangerous.”

“I love you and I want to make sure you’re ok.” Dmitri growls. I just get up off the bench and walk away. Love is for children.

I walk back into Stark Towers and there stands Natasha Romanoff; the first one to greet me. “Where were you?” She asks, her voice is cold and cynical. She doesn’t trust me as far as she can throw me.

“I went out, I’m sure Sitwell can confirm it.” I reply, “I’m not a prisoner Agent Romanoff, I can come and go as I please as long as there is an agent a couple yards away.” She just continues to stare at me, reading me as I talk. Trying to find a slight pitch in my voice or a skipped heart beat out of fear.

“You don’t trust me, do you Agent Romanoff?” I ask, catching her off guard. A chuckle escapes my lips as I walk over to her, “if the roles were reverse, I wouldn’t trust me either. I mean you know my training and what a Black Widow is capable of, having another in the same area must be nerve wrecking. You fought so hard to distance yourself from us but here you are, thrown back in.”

“Why are you here?” She asks, “you’re not here because you know so much. Ivan had every opportunity to kill you but he hasn’t. You’re here for another reason.”

“No one will believe you.” I tell her, “they’ll just toss it aside, thinking it’s just paranoia.”

“So you are here for another reason.” She muses, “you’re playing everyone like a harp.”

“I never said I wasn’t here for another reason Agent Romanoff.” I say as I see Agent Barton walking towards us, instantly changing my tone. “I wish you would just trust me.” My voice feigning an innocence that wasn’t there to begin with.

“Nat, leave the girl alone; she’s here to be safe, not interrogated anymore.” Agent Barton says, walking closer to me.

Agent Romanoff just gives me a dirty look before leaning over, whispering something in my ear; in Russian, “Твоя мать должна быть гордым.” I just smirk as she walks off.

Agent Barton just gives me a questioning look, “you ok kid?”

“I’m fine, Agent Barton.” I smile, “I’m just going to go lay down for a bit…” With that I walk away, a smirk only growing on my lips as I do. It’ll be easier to get rid of the infamous Black Widow, easier than I originally thought…

Natasha

“Nat, you’re going to scare the girl.” Clint scolds me, “she’s only a kid.”

“She’s not only a kid, she’s a fucking Black Widow.” I yell, “she’s playing every single one of you like a damn fiddle.”

“Why are you being so paranoid?” He asks.

“Because I know what Black Widows are capable of.” I reply, “you might not be able to read her but I can and that girl is nothing but trouble. You and James are too blinded by her looks and fake innocence to see what’s behind the façade…”
