Midnight

"There are things in this world, Cosima, that even a curious young girl such as yourself does not want to understand. That everything that goes bump in the night is real, all those nightmare creatures from the movies watch you from a distance, that angels and demons walk among humans. There is so much you don't know, so much you shouldn't know." He was sincere, his voice soft and calm, yet stern enough to put the image in my head that there are things that can kill me easily if they so desired; things like him. "Heaven and Hell," he continued, "are not the only ones who want you."

Cosima Prescott is a street artist from Atlanta. Struck with a loss of inspiration she moved to coastal Florida town. Falling into a boring routine of work, art, and midnight trips to the Costline Diner, a local twenty-four hour diner, she quickly develops an air of mystery about her as well a strange new admirer. But there are things in the world that cannot be understood, things that no one wants to understand.
