The Price of Dawn

Midnight

Payton,

The doctor’s just came in and confirmed my worst fears. I know it was probably selfish of me, but I convinced them to just give me a few more hours with you. At dawn though, you’ll be gone from me. I guess you really haven’t been here these past few days, but sitting here at your hospital bed I can pretend that you’re eventually going to wake up. After they take you off all these machines you’re hooked up on, I’ll have to face reality. I have the next few hours to continue lying to myself though.

Love,
Eddie
