Be My Escape

If It Makes You Less Sad I'll Die By Your Hand

My ma looked Down at her hands, messing with her fingers. A hint of . . Anger crossed my dads face. I have never had my heart beat faster in my chest.
"Victor, I thought we raised you differently. I don't remember teaching you that two men together was ever okay."
"Ever okay? What should be okay is my happiness. Besides, I don't know why it should bother you any. It's my life, and I should be able to choose what gender I like."
"It bothers me because a lot of people know me in this town, and I would hate for them to know that I have a faggot for a son!" My "dad" yelled at me.
I felt tears spring at my eyes, but I couldn't cry in front of him.
"It's not like I'm asking YOU to be gay. All Im asking is for you to accept me the way I am." I whispered.
Not wanting to stick around for his response, I grabbed my keys and bolted out the door. I hopped into my car, tears staining my face while doing so. I waited for this all to die down so That I would actually be able to drive somewhere with perfect vision, instead of sitting in my driveway. I called the only person I could think of- Kellin.
On the second ring he answered, "hello?"
"Kellin.. I-I told m-my parents about how Im g-gay and my dad. . Hehatesme. He thinks Im d-disgusting. Ijust want himtoacceptme for who I am Kellin. Whydidhe do this?" I asked myself more than him, taking a deep breath, trying to calm myself down more than anything.
"Woah, Vic. Slow down. I only heard some parts of that. Just breathe okay? Now, where are you? I can come get you if you'd like."
"No, it's okay. Im already in my car. Ill come to you. Are you at Alexs house?"
"Yep."
"Okay, I'll see you in a bit. I mean, if you want me to come over?"
"Of course, Vic, don't be ridiculous." He scolded playfully.
"Alright. See you soon." I smiled before pulling the phone away from ear and pressing the red button to end the call.
Clearing my mind completely, I wiped away the remaining tears and put my keys in the ignition.
Kellins POV
After getting off the phone with Vic, I couldn't help but feel distraught. He sounded awful on the phone, and he was on his way over to Alex's place.
I pulled out my phone once again, this time to dial Alex's number.
"Hey Alex, Vic just called me. He was super upset. I know you're at work but is it okay if he comes over?"
"Yeah man! That's fine. You don't even have to ask, you know that. Have him over for awhile so that I can interrogate him after work." Alex replied, his voice nothing but playful.
"If you insist, ha. Okay, thank you so much. Ill see you after work."
"Sounds good." And with that, I heard the dial tone. I honestly could say that I had the greatest best friend, and would fight anybody who tried to disagree with me.
After pacing back and forth for what felt like longer than forever, the doorbell finally rang.
I took the stairs down two at a time, almost falling straight down on my face in the process.
I opened the door, and immediately Vic threw himself into my arms.
I ran my fingers through his hair soothingly, and with my other hand, I traced circles into his back, knowing that calmed me and might do the same for him.
After his breathing had become slower, I held him at arms length, looking at him directly in his eyes. Although they were red from crying, he still looked beautiful to me.
"So what happened? I couldn't really understand you on the phone." I admitted.
"I told my parents about us, and lets just say, it didn't go well. Whatsoever."
"Well you know what Vic? That's okay. Because you have me, and you don't need them to have a good time. Now I know what will make you feel better." I told him happily, attempting to brighten his mood. I dragged him into the kitchen, and went to the pantry.
"Kellin what are you doing?" Vic asked, sniffling.
"You'll seeeeeee," I replied, purposely dragging out the last part of my sentence.
I pulled out cake mix that I had bought for Alex and I, but figured it could be put to use right now.
I grabbed all the necessary materials and set them out on the counter in front of me. Vic wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and kissed my neck.
"Making a cake? Are you kidding me? Weirdo." Vic told me, I could feel his smile against my neck.
I pinched some of the mix in between my fingers.
"Im the weirdo? I suggest you take that back, or else."
"Or else what? You're not intimidating, at all." He replied with a wink.
"Take it back!"
"I refuse!" He shouted, laughing.
I flicked the mix in his face, earning a shocked gasp from him.
"Oh it's on Quinn."
He grabbed an egg from the carton and ran towards me, but I was quicker than him. I ran into the living room, but he came in on the other side. I realized he had cornered me. I tried to run past him, but he grabbed my wrist. He pushed me back onto the couch, and pinned me down so that there was no way I could escape.
"Say you're sorry."
"Never!" I tried to move, but he was straddling me and even though he wasn't super buff, he was toned, and way stronger than me.
He smiled and that's when I felt it- the cold liquid in my hair. I gasped when it ran down my face.
"God dammit Vic!" I yelled, although I ended up laughing in the end.
He picked up some of the egg from my hair, and observed it on his fingers.
"You know, you should really try not to make messes." He smirked, and I couldn't help but laugh harder.
Forgetting about the egg in my hair, I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and brought him down to me so I could kiss him. He was just so god damn cute, and I couldn't resist.
