An Unexpected Twist

Month 2 (Tarin)

Month 2

Tarin

Mathieu and I walked into my apartment after my doctor’s appointment. He was in town this week so I made sure to schedule it for a time when he could make it. He appreciated that I was careful to make sure he could come this time.

“How’d the appointment go?” Asked Amy as I threw my car keys down onto the counter.

“It went well.” I said. “The doctor said that next time we go in I’ll be able to hear the heartbeat.”

“That’s awesome.” Said Amy. Mathieu walked up behind me and put his arm around me.

“Would you two feel up to coming to our game tonight?” Asked Mathieu.

“Of course!” Said Amy. She looked over at me. “That is, if Tarin wants to.” I laughed.

“Duh, I do.” I said.

“Great.” Said Mat. “I have two tickets under your name. Just pick them up at will call befor the game.”

Amy and I were in my room getting ready for the game. I pulled out my favorite jeans and put them on, but when I tried to button them, they were too tight. “Amy,” I said, “These don’t fit.” Amy looked up at me. “They're too tight. I can’t button them. I fit into them last week!”

“That sucks.” Said Amy.

“But I read online that I’m not supposed to show until ten to twelve weeks, much less not fit into my clothes!” I said.

“I’ve read that online too, but I’ve also read that every pregnancy is different and that some people show earlier. You’re fine.” I sighed. She was right. I went for a different pair of jeans, but they were really tight. I settled for yoga pants. The Perreault jersey that Matty got me for our two month anniversary still fit. Thank goodness sports jerseys were supposed to be big.

Amy and I left for the game. Even though I was still pissed off about my pants getting tight, but I was going to have fun tonight.
