I Can't Believe How Bad You Got Me

YOU!

I was wondering around after the press conference, trying to find Kirstie. She can’t be far! I walked passed the Kawi rig only to be stopped by Jake. No! You’ve already been super cute today! I need to find Kirstie. Not you, you adorable, blond thing you!

“I was going to come find you, but Kirstie reminded me that… I might run into a certain someone if I went in that directions,” he spoke, nodding towards the KTM pits.

“What would you have done? Beat him up?” I teased, crossing my arms playfully.

“… Maybe,” he couldn’t help but crack a smile.

“Mhm…” I looked at him sideways. I know I… kind of like this guy, but nobody’s taking down my brother.

After this, he quickly changed subjects. He invited me inside his hauler… Oh if Ryan only know where I was… It looked about the same as his setup though. It was just green and black instead of obnoxious orange everywhere!

“How’d practice go?” I got going once we were seated next to each other.

“Ok,” he shrugged.

“… Dungey was faster than you, wasn’t he?” I couldn’t help but smirk.

“Shut up,” he sent a playful glare my way. I knew deep down it bothered him though.

“You know what I or… I mean… What I’ve heard people tell Ryan?” I wanted to smack myself. I can’t keep slipping like this! I’m going to ruin any chance I had with this guy before it started!

“… I don’t want to know,” he grumbled and crossed his arms in a teasing pout.

“You have to imagine something you want so bad at the finish. But the only way you’re going to get it is if you’re there first,” I told him anyway.

This kind of took me back though. Whenever Ryan got down from his riding, I always told him this. Oh those were the days.

“So, Jake would just have to imagine you at the finish line and he might actually not suck?” the voice of Kirstie’s filled the area now.

“Shut up!” Jake shot at her.

“Aw, but look how cute! She’s giving you advice and you actually look like you’re listening to her,” she went on to taunt.

“Where were you?” I was quick to put an end to this. I don’t think Jake’s face was still red from his practice session at this point…

“YOU!” she started in.

“What?” What did I do? I’ve been here!

“You never told me your brother was so cute!” she threw at me.

I looked at her with wide eyes. We can’t discuss my brother now! I’ve already had a slip up! Is she crazy?!

“Your brother’s here?” Jake looked over at me.

“Yeah, he comes to every race,” it just wouldn’t stop! AH! No!

“Kirstie thinks he’s cute,” he wiggled his eyebrows at his friend. Oh, thank God! You just keep your focus on her and this should be fine!

“But… Shut up!” it was her turn to give it to him.

“Too bad you already have a crappy boyfriend,” Jake shrugged.

“I can still look!” she bickered with him.

“I’m telling Kevin!” Jake teased on.

“You don’t even know him so how will you tell him?!” she was getting a little upset… She must really think my brother’s cute… Hm…. She’d be way better than half the chick’s that hit on him!

“You know… he’s single,” I just thought I’d add.

“Hooking you up,” Jake grinned at her.

“I have a boyfriend!” she groaned.

“But! You could get married to him and we’d be sisters and it would be perfect!” I went on.

“NO!” she looked at me, making sure I saw her glare.

By this time, Jake was nearly falling onto the floor in laughter. His laughs are so cute! … And they just make me laugh, so he took me into his fit. Kirstie’s face was so red. If I weren’t laughing so hard, I would feel bad, but… it’s great! But… I do need to talk to my brother… and see how he feels about hanging out with a certain someone a little more… outside of the racetrack.
