We Are the Revelation!

I screamed. “NO!” I yelled, feebly running to get to her. I staggered, but I urged myself on. I fell to my knees at her side. Blood stained her lavender shirt. Suddenly, she coughed. Blood spurted out of her mouth. “Sapphire,” I said, tears falling out of my eyes. “No.” Jinxx and the others ran over. “Oh, my god.” Andy breathed. I could tell by his tone of voice that he was scared to death. “I can fix this, too,” Jinxx said. “She’s not dead yet.” He knelt down to her. He grimaced as he slowly pulled the dagger out of her stomach.
It was covered in Sapphire’s blood. Jinxx threw it across the room in disgust. With the dagger gone, I could see a hole in her stomach. Blood continued to ooze out of it. Jinxx put his hand on the wound. Once he touched it, Sapphire screamed in pain. I looked at her. “Keep her calm,” Jinxx said. I nodded. Sapphire’s eyes opened a small crack. She groaned. All she could do at this point was moan in pain.
“It’s going to be okay, Saph.” I told her. “Jinxx can save you.” She coughed, causing more blood to come out of her mouth. “Try not to cough.” I said. Sapphire nodded. Jinxx’s hand started to glow. He drew his hand back, leaving the imprint. The hole in her stomach closed slowly, stitching itself up. Blood stopped flowing out of her mouth.
“What…?” she said. “Shh,” I shushed her. “You’re okay now. You’re not going to die. It’s okay. You’re alright.” I assured her quietly, tears still streaming down my face. She sighed. “They were everywhere…” she said. I assumed she was talking about the shadows. “They tried to make me pray, but I refused. They got angry and stabbed me in the stomach. I’ve been laying here for about ten minutes.” I was amazed. “How did you hang on that long?” I asked. Jinxx looked up. “I can answer that one.” He said. “The dagger was not lodged very far into her body. If it had been farther in, she would’ve died much sooner. The shadows were being a bit sloppy.”
I nodded. I looked back at Sapphire. “You did good, Sapphire.” I smiled. She returned the smile. “She really needs to rest.” Andy said. I nodded. “Let’s get her to the infirmary.” I said. Sapphire’s eyes widened. “Oh, no.” she said. Her face fell. “What?” I asked.
“Reini.” She said.
Jake immediately ran to the infirmary. Andy cradled Sapphire in his arms and carried her to the infirmary. The others and I followed. Jake yanked open the door. Our fears were confirmed as a worse sight than before was presented to us. Jake gasped. “No…” he said. Curled on the floor, impaled upon a long wooden staff, sitting in a large pool of her blood, was Reini.
Her eyes were closed and she wasn’t breathing at all. Her long blonde hair was strewn around her, dyed red from the blood. Her notepad was across the room, the pages stained. Jake ran to her and knelt down. “No.” He cried. He was so close that he was sitting in her blood, not caring that his jeans would be stained.
He held her head in his hands. Her mouth was slightly open. Jake’s tears mixed with her blood. Sapphire turned her head away and cried into Andy’s shirt. She couldn’t bear to see it. Andy lowered his head. I found myself crying as well. Reini didn’t deserve that. She was a nice girl. She was tormented by F.E.A.R., and that turned out to be what got her in the end.
Jake was hugging her head close to his body. His face was buried in her hair. He kept saying “No,” quietly. “Jake…” I said. “Stay the hell away from me.” He growled quietly. I kept my distance. Jinxx was depressed too. “This is one thing that I can’t fix, Jake,” he said sadly. “I’m sorry.”
Jake held Reini’s lifeless body in his arms. He had been crying for a while now. “Let her go, Jake.” Ashley said. “She’s gone, and I’m sorry for that, I really am, but you need to let this pass.” Jake turned around. His eyes were bright red. His face had spots of Reini’s blood on it. “No,” he growled. “I’m not gonna let this go. Never. F.E.A.R. is going to pay dearly for this.” C.C. stepped forward. “We can bury her if you want, Jake.” He offered.
Jake nodded. “That’d be great.” He said. He looked back at Reini. He hugged her one last time. He laid her body down on the floor gently. As he stood, I saw that his knees were stained with her blood. My own face was wet with tears. Jake sighed sadly. He knelt back down. He slowly but steadily slid the staff out of her body. He angrily chucked it across the room. It hit a cabinet and clattered to the floor. He picked her up, cradling her gently.
Her arms were dangling off of her body. Her half blonde, half red hair was resting on her shoulders. Jake lowered his head. Sapphire turned around. “I am so sorry, Jake. I am so, so sorry that I couldn’t save her.” She cried. Jake’s eyes widened. “No, it’s not your fault. Don’t even think that it is, because it isn’t. You couldn’t do anything to save her.” Jake said.
“But I could’ve. I could’ve tried.” She said, looking at the ground. Jake walked forward. “You would’ve killed yourself if you tried. It is NOT your fault, Sapphire. Stop thinking that. It’s nobody’s fault but F.E.A.R.’s.” He said. Sapphire sighed. “Okay.” She said. Andy walked in the room. Avoiding the pool of blood, he laid Sapphire down on the infirmary bed gently. She rested her hand over her stomach where her wound used to be. He turned to me.
“You stay here with Sapphire. We’re going to go bury Reini.” He said. I nodded. He, Jake, and the others walked out the door, closing it behind them. I looked at Sapphire. She was still crying. I walked over to her and leaned on the bed. “It’s going to be okay. It’s okay.” I tried to calm her. “No, it’s not!” she yelled. “Shh, keep your voice down!” I said.
“But it’s my fault one way or another. It was me who jumped into the portal to this place and you chased after me because you’re my friend. I was the one who got us into this mess. I bet you if I hadn’t come, Reini would still be alive. This is my fault.” She said. I blinked. She had a bit of a point. “It’s just human nature, Saph.” I said. “Stop blaming yourself for everything.” “But I can’t,” she said. “I just can’t.”
