We Are the Revelation!

Saviour

“So how are we gonna get in?” I asked. “Windows, I guess?” Ashley asked. “There are no windows,” Jake said. “Well isn’t that great,” I mumbled bitterly. “There is, however, a back door.” Jake mentioned. “Wouldn’t they notice a pack of strangers just waltzing in through the back like they own the place?” I asked. Jake nodded. “But that’s not the point!” he said. “It kind of is, Jake.” Andy said. “We need to find somewhere else to get in.” I looked at the base. From here, nothing apparent jumped out at me as a way to get in.

“Isn’t there some sort of secret entrance that isn’t a secret anymore because it’s known about?” Jinxx asked. I smiled. “Fifteen years of action-adventure movies should probably do me good on this occasion,” I said. CC gave me a weird look. “Movie?” He asked. I shook my head. “Moving pictures, CC.” I said. “Don’t ask me to explain anymore.” CC blinked, confused. I walked to the base, followed by Jake, CC, Ashley, Andy, and Jinxx.

Once the base was right in front of me, I could see so many places where there could be a secret entrance. “Okay,” I murmured to myself. I pushed on the wall, looking for hidden doors or brick buttons that would open hidden doors. I pushed hard and suddenly fell through the wall against a hinge. I hit concrete littered with dead bugs and cobwebs. “Eww…” I said with revulsion. “You okay, Sapphire?” Andy asked. “Yeah.” I said lightly.

I looked down the darkened passageway. “This is crazy,” I said. “Completely mad.” I looked up at the guys. “I think we’re gonna have to crawl.” I said. “Well, this should be fun.” Ashley said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes with a condescending sigh. I pushed onto my hands and knees and started to crawl. I heard the swishing and stepping that signaled the boys getting down crawling.

I flicked away strings of cobweb that tried to tangle in my nails. After a few minutes of crawling, I saw a faint light. I crawled faster. I suddenly emerged into a small room with dim, dying light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. “We’re here,” I said. I stood up and looked at my surroundings. For a demon devil-angel, F.E.A.R.’s castle was poorly built. The room was littered with crates ranging in size from the length of my hand to the length of my arm. The room had an aura of discontent. It must’ve been the fact that it was F.E.A.R.’s castle. His own aura surrounded his home and belongings.

Out came Andy, followed by Ashley, CC, Jinxx, and Jake. They stood up. “Okay, let’s go find the girls.” Andy said. I nodded, eager to find my friend. We walked lightly, making sure that our shoes didn’t clack across the wooden floors. We snuck around, backs against the wall. Soon enough, a corner turned up. I peeked my head around. There was a room. It was almost empty, except for a large cage in the middle. The bars were at least three inches thick. The door had a large padlock on it. What we were interested, however, was what was in the cage.

Kneeling, hands clasped at her knees, was Alexandria. She was staring off into space. Her lips were moving, but no words were coming out. In the opposite corner, Ella sat, doing the same as Alexandria. If we weren’t trying to be quiet, I would’ve rushed to the cage and frantically banged against the bars, trying to rupture them. But, I couldn’t. I tiptoed softly to the cage. The guys followed quietly.

I fiddled with the padlock hopelessly. I smashed my fist into it, not making a coherent noise. Jinxx came over to assist. He pointed at it and it evaporated. I nodded to thank him wordlessly. He nodded back. I quietly opened the cage door. It make a regrettable creak. Jinxx grimaced. Alexandria and Ella, however, didn’t even flinch. I leapt in the cage, landing softly so my footsteps would not be heard.

I knelt by Alexandria. “Lexi,” I said. “Lexi, wake up.” I was aware that she wasn’t asleep; I just wanted her out of that trance. I shook her violently. “Lex, wake up!” I shouted quietly. Her lips stopped moving. She looked at me blankly. “F.E.A.R. will end you someday,” she said in a monotone. I shook my head. “No,” I murmured. I looked at Jinxx. “How do I get her out?” I asked. Jinxx shrugged, “Try slapping her; that always works.” He said. “She is going to HATE me when she wakes up,” I thought to myself as I raised my palm. My hand smacked across her face loudly. “SHHH!” Andy shushed angrily. Alexandria was definitely back to normal.

“BITCH! What the hell was that?!” She screamed. My eyes widened. “Um… run.” I said. We heard the distant hissing of shadows. “I mean it. I’ll explain later.” I said to a very cross Alexandria. “Fine,” she growled. We ran around the corner, followed by some shadows. As they hissed and growled menacingly, we ran faster.

We soon got the secret entrance (that now played as an exit.) “You go first,” I said. “Oh, you have got to be kidding me,” Alexandria said as she got down on her hands and knees. As the shadows closed in, Andy and Ashley shot and stabbed them off as the rest of us crawled through the tunnel. After we got out the other end, we were tripping over each other to get off of the island. “Don’t we have to wait for Andy and Ashley?” I asked. “They’ll be fine, Sapphire. We need to go.” Jake said.

“Yeah, that’s what they all say. Try saying that again when they don’t come out. I’m going back for them.” I said. Leaving before Jake could say anything; I got down and crawled through the passage. After a few seconds, I smacked into something. That something was Andy on his way back.

“You have a really hard head,” He laughed. I sighed as I turned around. “You get them all?” I asked. “Yeah.” I heard Ashley say from behind Andy. I scrambled out of the tunnel. Alexandria looked at me condescendingly. “What? It doesn’t hurt to be safe.” I said as Andy and Ashley came out behind me. We got up and ran to the land-bridge, desperate to get out of the hellhole.

We all had the feeling. That feeling you get when you forget something. But none of us remembered what we forgot.
