Dear Betsy,

School here is weird. Everyone's so square and boring. Some of them have never even heard of Hendrix! Can you believe it? Mom's good though. She sends her love. We're staying with my aunt, which is definitely not as neat as the ol' boarding house. The food is fine, but come on. Nothing can ever beat yours.

I've been thinking a lot (a wiggy thing to do, I know). Maybe it's good that we moved. I've been best friends with a girl for too long. It's time to meet some cool cats. Don't be sad though. You'll always be my best friend. No one can take that title. But I need some some fellas to sit around and drink beer and go trucking with.

We have two more years until college, Bets. As soon as I graduate I'm gonna cut right back to New York and it'll be like these two years never happened. Just you, me, a new record, and a sunny afternoon. Let me know what you think and please, write back soon. I don't like not talking to you every day.

Yours,
Phillip
