The Beauty of the Written Word

Light filtered through the gaps within the pale blue curtains ,beams stretching across the room.It was about late afternoon the sun squeezing out the last of its golden rays.The pale blue theme ran through out the room ,splashes of it every where from the walls to the sheets.A white dresser had a few framed pictures of family in the hopes of capturing precious moments on film.One wall was very different from the others in the fact that you simply couldn't see it at all.Huge book shelf stretching the entire length of the wall filled to the brim with all types of books.Classics ,new releases ,fantasy ,crime you name it sat on those shelves with cracked spines from being read.It was quite ,peaceful with only the sounds of very light snores filling the room.Amelia laid in Spencers arms cuddled in to his side.Her head rested on his rising and falling chest and an arm that was wrapped around her waist keeping her close .The pair were both fast asleep ,dreaming away the day.After a returning back from a case in the early hours of the morning Amelia didn't want to leave Spencer just yet plus he lived much further away so she suggest he stayed over at hers and got some sleep.No way in hell was she letting him drive to his place when he was already falling asleep on the plane.Spencer happily agreed ,spending anytime with Amelia by themselves was something he did not want to pass up. That's how they ended up here resting their tired eyes in each-others arms however not all good things last

Two sharp beeps from Amelia's phone shattered the once perfect silence.Groaning in frustration she woke blinking her eyes a few times till her vision was more than a tired blur.Remembering that she wasn't alone a small smile graced her face.Cuddling in to his side more she could hear the gentle thump of his heart against his chest. Remembering what woke her from a perfect sleep in the first place she frowned. Amelia stretched her arm back to reach her phone not wanting to move from her comfortable position and after some fumbling around she found it.A text from JJ popped up on her screen

Hey we're all meeting at the bar wanna come
JJ x

Letting out a sigh she placed her phone down on the sheets behind her before moving up from Spencer chest so she was level with his face. He seemed so peaceful Amelia feel pretty bad for what she was about to do next.Shaking his shoulder lightly Amelia called out his name in a soft voice in hopes of waking him up.It worked he was awake but he kept his eyes shut and grumbled something about five more minutes as he nuzzled his face further in to the plump pillow.Trying a different approach Amelia leaned down and places kisses lightly along his cheek ,lingering each time before moving along to the next one.A smile began to form on his lips as Amelia continued to show her affection kissing along his jaw line

"Come on Spence I know you're awake "She cooed but he still kept his lids shut even though a sly smile toyed on his lips.
"Fine you wanna play I'll play"Amelia thought as she let her lips slide down from his jawline.Her lips pressed against the soft skin of his neck and she earned a reaction almost immediately ,no one had given Spencer that kind of attention in a long time so the feeling of her lips even touching his neck made his eyes snap open.The Adams apple bobbed in his throat as he swallowed hard tilting his head back almost involuntarily. Smirking against his neck she left a few more kisses up and down his neck before moving back up to meet his now wide eyes that where staring back at her

"Oh are you awake now"Amelia exclaimed sarcastically and Spencer let out a chuckle giving her a playful nudge as a rose color took over his cheeks
"How long have we been asleep"Spencer asked
"I don't know couple hours maybe ,JJ said everyone's going down to the bar if I wanted to come" And just then right on cue Spencers text alert rang through the room "And that will be your invite"
"What do you wanna do"
"Well I think if we both dont go i think its gonna look pretty suspicous"Amelia giggled
"We cant keep this from them forever y'know"Spencer pointed out intertwining their fingers while their legs tangled in amoungst eachothers
"I know that why I was thinking ...why don't we tell them tonight"she suggesting chewing on her lower lip nervously
"Seriously"he spoke in shocked "Where'd this come from"
"Well Rossi put any fear of job risk at ease when he told me Hotch said he was okay with the idea us becoming a couple so whats the worst that could happen apart from minor teasing ,Derek probably wont be that hard on us"Explain Amelia playing with fingers while she spoke
"I don't know its like the equivalent of wearing a red shirt on star trek you pretty much know you're a dead man"Spencer joked causing giggles to erupt from his girlfriend at the reference "God I love your laugh"
"Urgh I dont"Amelia protested scrunching up her nose
"Well I do I think its really cute" Spencer beamed but Amelia clearly still disagreed.

Rolling over so he was on top of her ,fingers found her ribs quite quickly and before she could warn him he began to tickling her sides mercilessly. Laughing uncontrollably Amelia squirmed within his grasp struggling to breath.Pleads tried to escape her lips but every time her laughter cut her off

"Sorry what was that "Spencer teased not easing up ,the sound of her laughter leaving a grin plastered on his face.
"Pl-lease I surrendeeerr"She squealed trying to bat his mischievous hands away.Deciding she had enough Spencer moved his hands away from her slender sides to either side of her head.Once the laughter died down and her breath regulated Amelia shot her a playful glare.Spencer was about to retort with what Amelia was sure was a witty comeback when a loud knock thumped on the door.Both froze for a second before looking back at each other with a confused expression.

"Wait here ,Spence"Amelia spoke worming her way out from underneath him even though she desperately wanted to stay.Closing the bedroom door behind her Amelia moved slowly towards her apartment door.Standing on her tippy toes she looked through the eye hole in the door and sighed .God why did it have to be her.On the other side of that door was her cousin Lucy.Now Amelia loved everyone of her family but Lucy was just pure evil crammed in to a 30 year old body .Looks wise her and Amelia were very different ,Lucy obviously had work done and tended to dress in more skimpy clothes.She would have been fine with that she's not hurting anyone its the constant remarks for Amelia not wanting any of those things that got to her.Add in a bossy attitude and a big old spoon of selfishness and there you have your very own Lucy ,101% bitch.Non stop back handed comments constantly from the beginng.It drove her insane.Putting on a brave face Amelia opened the door

"Lucy Hi ! what a suprise to see you " Amelia jeered ,faking every second
"Hey Amy baby"Lucy smiled .Amelia had to hold back the urge to request a new nickname like she always does
"So what brings you here"
"Well me ,your mum ,dad and brother are stopping over and they're wondering if you wanted to have dinner with us on Saturday"
"Wow ofcourse I'd love to but I'm just about to meet some friends from work so" subtly hinting that she needed her to leave
"Haha-oh my god you're being serious check out Miss i-struggle-in-social-gatherings having friends"Lucy smiled as if she said nothing wrong ignoring Amelias now stern expression "Any cute ones ".Blood boiling in her veins she relised she needed Lucy out of her sight before she exploded and said something she'd regret
"No Lucy come on I work for the FBI we have to be professional now if you'll excuse me"Amelia said slowly closing the door.

Suddenly shuffling could be heard in the bedroom.Amelia cursed Spencer in her head while simultaneously praying Lucy didn't hear.A manicured hand stopped the door from closing as Lucy gave Amelia a sly smile before darting past her towards the bedroom ,a blur of jet black curls whiz past.

"Lucy wait-"Amelia called out hot on her cousins heel but it was to late.Lucy opened the door to reveal Spencer looking mildly shocked.He was stood in front of her book case a fairly battered copy of Lord Of The Flies in one hand the other one a page in mid-flick.Amelia mouthed "Sorry I tried" behind Lucy's back while the girl grinned at Spencer

"I hope you dont mind I was just looking at some of your books"Spencer spoke shifting his gaze to his girlfriend yet he still felt Lucys green eyes practically boring in to his skull
"No its fin-"
"Oh she's always been a book worm"Lucy spoke brushing off the infomation wanting to getting to her question "So who might you be ?".Spencer glanced over at Amelia for answers ,not knowing whether she was ready to tell her family let alone distant family whom she clearly felt uncomftable around
"This is Spencer my boyfriend"Amelia spoke and Spencer gave Lucy a small wave which is routine for him.Amelia could see him slightly smile at the word boyfriend making her mirror the sweet reaction.Lucy was not smiling like the other two well not a real one anyway ,it was clearly fake and she was obviously picking Spencer apart in her mind.Amelia didn't like this one bit pick her apart fine but starting on Spencer was the last straw.

"Lucy no to be rude can you leave please we have to go soon"Amelia pleaded
"If i must honestly Amelia why didn't you just say ,I'll see you Saturday don't worry my lips are sealed"She waved as Amelia was practically pushing her out of the apartment.Scoffing slightly at the lie she rolled her eyes ,of course she was going to tell her mum but not the full story only that she found her boyfriend in her bedroom.Amelia shut the front door before sighing in frustration.Walking back to the bedroom she stopped and gave Spencer an apologetic look.They met half way as Spencer enveloped her in to a hug as she grumbled in to his chest
"I'm so so sorry she just barged past me and-"
"Amy ,It's okay honestly"Spencer chuckled "How is she related to you?"
"She's my cousin on my mums side unfortuantly ,I do try my best to see the good in people but she's just so rude and judgemental"Amelia ranted
"No offense but she doesn't seem that nice"Spencer mumbled almost feeling bad for saying anything bad against a family member even if she was horrible
"Trust me none taken ,I'm used to stuff like that but when she started judging you I could see her doing it in her mind I swear I could have killed her"Amelia frowned playing with the buttons on his burgundy cardigan.Tilting her chin up with his fingers he saw the worrying lying behind perfect pools of blue.
"Look at me still in one piece ,see"Spencer reassured her "okay?"
"Okay"Amelia smiled giving in to his sweet caring nature.

Standing up on the tips of her toes she placed a sweet peck on his pink lips.Then another.Then another.Then another ,they keep going back for more and what start out as something sweet end up as something more passionate.Their lips move in sync as hand either wrapped around necks or rested on hips.Tracing the doves on her hips he found a few days earlier earn him the corners of her mouth turning up and her fingers to get tangled in his disheveled short hair.Sighing in content he swiped his tongue along her lower lip asking for entrance and after a shaky breath she parted her lips.With his tongue roaming her mouth Amelia tried her best to hold it back but a small moan escaped her throat.Pulling away ,not before stealing a few more pecks before hand ,She flushed red which deepened when she saw Spencers small smirk.

"Ahem well we best um get going they'll wonder where we are"Amelia spoke keeping her head down as she went to look for her phone.

Spencer watched her with a smile ,it was adorable the way she got all flustered. Dont get him wrong he's not smooth but he couldn't help but smile at the rosy cheeks and fumbled speech.Focusing back to the task at hand Spencer grabbed his phone and followed Amelia out of of the door.After much debate over who was driving Spencer took the wheel.It was longer than a few mins drive but it felt shorter ,she found that the more you worried about something the faster it comes.Before she knew it they were pulling up just a few steps away from the bar.A few steps away from telling the team.A matter for seconds.Oh god she thought she was was going to be sick.

"You okay ?"Spencer asked holding her hand in his
"Yea just nervous trying stop my heart from jumping in my throat"Amelia spoke with a nervous chuckle.Lifting her hand up to his mouth he placed a kiss on her hand with a quite "It'll be fine".

Unlinking hands they got out of the car to see Rossi outside.He sat on the bench just opposite the bar ,the same bench where the pair first kissed,smoking a cigar.
"Hello you two"He smiled watching smoke crawl out of his mouth
"Hi Rossi ,I'm gonna go inside to see the others"Amelia smiled turning back to Spencer
"I'll be in soon"Spencer replied kissing her cheek before she made her way towards the bar ,Neither bothered that Rossi saw the sweet exchange
"Amelia seemed nervous anything wrong"The italien asked ,it doesnt take a proflier two seconds to guess someones mood
"Yea we're actually planning on telling people tonight "Spencer replied clearing his throat
"Really ? Well its about time"Smiled Rossi. Spencer could feel this gush of emotions fighting their way up to his tongue.He couldn't help himself if he needed to get it off his chest to someone somehow

"Rossi I'm nuts about her. I have never felt this way about anyone before.When I'm with Amy I never been so happy.She's my dream girl ,no she better than that ,she's real.She's real and she wants to be with me ,do you have any idea how hard that is for me to wrap my head around?"Spencer blurted out moving his hands along with what he was saying.

Rossi watched him as he rambled ,this kid was truly crazy about her.The way he got the almost starry look in his eyes when he talked about lips curling about at memories running through his mind getting completely lost in the love filled rant.

"You're a very lucky man"Rossi chuckled and spencer smiled resting his elbows on his knees
"I definatly am"He grinned
"Dr Spencer Reid head over heels in love with Amelia Brooks"Rossi smiled causing Spencers head to snap up on one particular word
"What"Spencer gasped but before Rossi could respond the entire team walked out of the bar with almost blank expressions.The pair on the bench gave them a questioning look and JJ just replied with "case"
"But we just came off one"Spencer spoke and JJ just shrugged
"Come on boy genius ,lets go Gotham needs us"Garcia sighed reaching a hand out to Spencer which he begrudgingly took.
"Dibs on Cat women"Garcia and Amelia said simultuously which lead them to erupt in to laughter.Walking towards the car Spencer leaned in and whispered "Guess we'll have to wait then" to Amelia who gave a slight nods in return.Its just until the case finishes ,God her job can be a pain sometimes
