What Makes a Hero

They say your life flashes before your eyes as you die. A kaleidoscope of memories to send you off. Sort of like everything you’ve ever said, done, or experienced in your lifetime being presented as if you were in a cinema.
I clearly remember one of the first warnings my teacher had ever given me.

"Never shoot a man in the stomach, Oliver. An arrow there will cause a slow, painful death."

I wish I didn't have so many enemies that were archers.

Taking a deep breath, and wincing at the wave of pain that followed, I closed my eyes and waited for the movie to start. If what they said was true, I sure had enough time for a lengthy replay.
